Please say a quick prayer for sweet Cougs. He is spend the night at the e-vet. He had pain after coming out of his crate this evening (suspected to originate in his neck) and has a temp of 105 degrees.

Sending prayers for Cougar. :hope:grouphug

Greyhound angels at the bridge- Casey, Charlie, Maggie, Molly, Renie, Lucy & Teddy. Beagle angels Peanut and Charlie. And to all the 4 legged Bridge souls who have touched my heart, thank you. When a greyhound looks into you eyes it seems they touch your very soul.

E-vet just called to tell me that they lost power (leftovers of Hurricane Fay are coming through NC), but Cougar is doing much better. His bloodwork was good and did not indicate infection. His temp has come down to 101.9. Regular vet had told me up to 102 was okay. He is resting well, but still reacts in pain when they touch his shoulder or leg. She had told me initially that if they remained without power the generators wouldn't accomodate them taking x-rays, but as we were finishing up our conversation, the power came back on and everything was beeping at her. She said that they would go ahead and try to get the neck x-rays if the power held out and offered to call me back after that.

We aren't out of the woods yet, but he sounds like he is in much better shape than when he went in. Fever could have been from pain and anxiety since infection isn't looking likely. I'm so glad I grabbed the bed I bought at Sam's over the weekend. It is made with pieces of memory foam so it's super comfy. At least I know he's comfortable for the time being.

Please keep thinking good thoughts. Hoping for good news from the x-rays. I'm hoping for something like a pulled muscle.

TT

Hoping that it is just the pulled muscle and some medication will make it more comfortable. Poor baby!
