Guest siamanti
27/2/2008 Hello all, thank you for your kind replies. I have rang the Vet this lunchtime asking for a referral to a neurologist. I did not give him a chance to ask me about money as I told him, that it would be my problem to find it not his. He agreed and I am hoping to get an appointment as soon as possible. I know that this might not change Jupp's health but I just need to be able to say that I have tried everything I can and the only way it seems to me that a clear diagnosis can be made is through an MRI scan. I will try and keep you updated and still really hope for a miracle! Siamanti
silverfish
I'm glad you're going for it, and I'm glad your vet didn't give you any grief about the referral. Sending many, many good thoughts and good luck wishes for you and Jupp. Quote The plural of anecdote is not dataBrambleberry Greyhounds My Etsy Shop

Guest siamanti
Update on Jupp p.m I had a phone call late this afternoon that a hospital near London would be willing to take look at Jupp tonight. I went immediately. The guy who examined him is one of the leading neurologists in the country and his CV certainly looks impressive. He was also extremely nice and examined Jupp very thoroughly. He said in order to make a confirmed diagnosis Jupp would need an MRI scan. Dr Capello literally just rang me now to say Jupp has had his MRI scan and that one of the discs is pressing on the nerves in the spine. There are no tumors showing up. He will operate on Jupp tomorrow. I have no idea how to raise the money but as I did not have to pay at front there will be a way. I am feeling slightly more optimistic after this phone call and I am very relieved that I insisted on the referral. Kepp you fingers crossed for Jupp and thanks for all the caring words and prayers. 5blackgreys
I'm so glad you have a diagnosis for Jupp and I will say a prayer that the surgery goes well. You might call your adoption group and see if they have any funds available to help with your vet bills. If not then hopefully your vet will work out some sort of payment plan with you. Please keep us posted on how Jupp is doing. Hawthorn
I understand that Dr Capello is the senior neurologist at the Queen Mother Hospital (I'm assuming this is where you went?) so Jupp is in excellent hands. Will be thinking of you both tomorrow Quote When a relationship of love is disrupted, the relationship does not cease. The love continues; therefore, the relationship continues. silverfish
That sounds VERY hopeful! I'm so glad you took him along - and that they could see him so quickly! It sounds as if Jupp is in excellent hands, and I'll be thinking of him tomorrow for his surgery. Sending the very best of good wishes! Maybe the hospital will allow you to make payments on this one? Batmom
I can't imagine what you're feeling right now -- on the one hand, relief to have a diagnosis; on the other, worried about the surgery and paying for it. Sending along many prayers and wishing for the best outcome on all counts. Guest siamanti
16-00 pm update on Jupp I just had the phone call from the surgeon saying that the operation has gone as expected with no further complications. Jupp is recovering at the moment. I was about to go insane when the phone finally rang. I am breathing a huge sigh of relief although I am fully aware that this is just the first step and it is still a patient waiting game. I don't know when I will be able to see, or take Jupp home but I hope it will be soon. At the moment they want him resting. I am trying to get some sleep and give Charmant (my old lay lurcher a huge cuddle as she has patiently been playing second fiddle to Jupp over the last two weeks). Thanks so much for your prayers and good thoughts. Siamanti
