Guest greyhound515
Daphne went to the bridge at about 11:45 this morning. For the past five days her arthritis had progressed to the point where she was in too much pain to go on. Yesterday I spent the day with her and treated her to all her home-cooked favorites this week-steak twice, fish, chicken. bones, extra treats as often as possible...no awful eye drops or tooth-brushing! Wednesday I had decided it was her time-she was barely able to stand and tried romping with another dog and gave me a look that said "Why can't I do this any more?" Daph believed she was still a pup and even played with her toys until the last few days. I buried two parents and this was without a doubt the toughest! I sang to her and spoke to her and kneeled at her side as she went. I am pretty sure even the vet tech & vet wept with me. I may never quit crying. She was my first Grey and I was pretty hard to train--not the brightest bulb in the package. She made me a better person and taught me everything I ever forgot about love. Godspeed, sweet girl. Plese stay your wonderful self and wait for Mommy. I love you, puddin' tush.

Greys4Us
What a sweet tribute to a wonderful girl. Grieve for her as that is what she deserves. Thank you for loving her so much; I'm sure if she could talk, she would have thanked you for the love and told you how much she loved you.
