For Those Of You Who Remember Daphne And Henry

Lisa President of Grateful Greyhounds wanted all of you who loved and supported Daphne and Henry

Hi everyone,

Tough, strong willed, curious, scrappy, aloof...these are some of the

words I can use to describe Daphne. It was because of her fighting

spirit that she survived the hell of her adopters until she was 13

yrs old,and made such a remarkable recovery as the greyhound

community worldwide watched. We have enjoyed witnessing Daphne

thrive in our care, from almost dead to strong and sturdy. On

thursday, 8/23/07, surrounded by her biggest fans, Daphne crossed the

rainbow bridge. She died from old age as her organs were no longer

functioning as they should. Her liver, not detectable on an x-ray,

was not able to filter toxins any longer and her body had lost much

weight. Finally, she lost the use of her back legs and walking and

sniffing was not longer possible for her.

We have tears for her loss, but a smile for her life. We have been

privileged to be the people responsible for her everyday care. It

has been an honor to join Daphne on this journey, one of life and

death.

My friend, Sue, found out about them. She called me and I contacted

my friend, Lisa Sallie of Grateful Greyhounds. The rest as they say,

is history. You all followed Daphne and Henry's journey from the

beginning and rooted them on as they walked the road to recovery.

That road has come to the end for the last little senior, Daphne.

Farewell, little D. You were - and are - very, very loved.

Daphne, you are so loved and will be missed greatly! :cry1 As a member of a community that shed many tears over you and then you brought so many smiles to our faces as you grew stronger and became a member of a real family, we again shed tears in sadness and in comfort that you went to the Bridge knowing the meaning of love and kindness.

God Speed Daphne :f_pink

Oh no, such sad news.

I remember vividly Daphne & Henry's saga. They were lucky to have greyhound people rally around them and show them the love and kindness they deserved. Sadly for us they are now reunited and running together again. They are whole and happy once again.

Godspeed Sweet Daphne - you are sadly missed by the entire GreyTalk family.

We all loved you so. Thank you for letting us know but most of all a million thanks to those who cared for Daphne and Henry and made their last few years wonderful, loving years.

Praying for all the missing greys!

I'm so thankful that Daphne and Henry's final years were amongst those who loved them, that they had the opportunity to forget the earlier years. I hope their families know how special their gift to these two were. Run, play, have fun together puppers... :f_pink:f_red:grouphug :grouphug :grouphug :grouphug

I'm so sorry to hear of Daphne's passing. It was always wonderful to hear of their progress and to know that during the last years of Daphne & Henry's lives they were showered with love and affection they had never experienced before.
