Sadly, CinCin was put to sleep this a.m. Xrays revealed 3 compressed vetebra (from a fracture) which left her with no sensation in her bottom half; her rear legs just went along with the front legs; she had no control over them and had no feeling in that part of her body. The nerves in her spine were compromised and surgery wasn't an option. The fracture was caused either by stepping on her or dropping something on her OR she was born this way. The vetebra had already started to calcify so this wasn't a recent injury. She really had no control of her urine or her poop. I really felt that CinCin would make it thru this; I had bought her puppy food dry and canned; she was on an antibiotics for her neck wound and she was being treated for her hookworms. CinCin had a wonderful couple of days; Jill and Blaine treated her like a princess and she was my baby. My dogs were kind to her; CinCin took a real liking to Jasmine. It was lovely to have a puppy even for only 24 hours. CinCin died in the presence of people who loved her; both Candace (my friend and technican) gave her lots and lots of kisses and hugs and shared tears when she closed her eyes for the last time.
