He's wonderful. He is knowledgeable about the breed. He also has a very caring demeanor and will really listen to patients and answer questions thoroughly. Dr. Williams does not seem to do unnecessary testing to diagnose issues. Prices are actually very reasonable, considering the long amount of time that he is always willing to spend talking with us. All of the staff is knowledgeable about greyhounds, and generally very helpful and friendly. We've been taking our dogs there since we adopted our first grey 18 months ago. I've been there only once with Anna Bella, her first check-up after adoption, and admired Dr. Pokorny's calm, quiet way of examining Annie. I was more stressed about it than Annie Bella. I've called the practice on the phone plenty of times with questions and have always gotten a call back within an hour or so if the question couldn't be immediately answered. Currently, Dr. Linick is on the Academy's Board of Directors. As a Fellow, Dr. Linick is trained in advanced dental procedures. These include endodontics (root canals and vital pulpotomies), restorative dentistry (crowns and fillings), orthodontics (braces and other appliances), oral surgery and oral medicine. He has lectured and taught dentistry locally, nationally and internationally. Of course, he still performs basic dentistry and cleanings. She also teaches surgery at the University of Minnesota and is up on the latest treatments, etc. She specializes in sports medicine for pets and does checks of dog race teams for major races. She is awesome at diagnosing those sprains and strains Jax seems prone to. I love her approach and how available she is when you need her. We are dealing with congestive heart failure with our whippet, and she always returns my phone calls the same day, even if I call her everyday! Their prices are reasonable and the staff is great! I have worked for them for many years and my family has gone to them for a long time. All of the vets there are great but most, if not all, of the greyhounds that come in see Dr. Prowell. These are the kind of people who know the names of your pets AND your name, and who call after check-ups just to make sure that everything is okay.
