  1. I've been with ASPCA Pet Health Insurance for more than 5 years and am very happy with them. They recently raised their prices, but I'm still happy with them. We we were previously paying $25 a month with a $100 yearly deductible and 80% all non-preventative care bills paid. One emergency visit for stitches and the insurance paid for itself for the entire year.
  2. I've been through that same scenario and seen it happen so many times at the vet clinic I work at - they don't seem to have any symptoms of these horrible internal cancers until it's too late. They're fine on the outside until they're not fine at all. It really sucks and I'm so very sorry. What a horribly sad time for you guys :grouphug
  3. So very very sorry for the loss of your sweet boy :grouphug
  4. We have excellent luck with this stuff at the vet clinic I work at http://www.amazon.com/Siphotrol-Plus-Premise-Spray-16oz/dp/B000KVSTC0 We keep the animals off the sprayed items for about 20 minutes and after a little bit of airing out, everyone is good to sit, lay, roll, etc with no adverse effects.
  5. So sorry that I'm just seeing this now and so so sorry for your loss :grouphug

  8. Sorry about that, guys, long day at work today! Joe did fine! They ended up find another tiny lump that they took off too which bled quite a bit, but he was a total trooper for both procedures and is stitched up and at home resting. He's a bit sore, but things went really well. Thanks for all your well wishes.
  9. Think good thoughts for Joe today please. He's getting a small lump (top of a pencil eraser size) lasered off his leg today. It looks a lot like a scab, but hasn't healed in nearly two months and has just gotten smoother, and the fine needle biopsy came back inconclusive because it was filled with so much blood. The doctor doesn't really "think" it's anything to worry about but we're taking it off just in case, especially since it grew some the first 4 weeks. I'd never forgive myself if it grew into something bigger and we could have prevented a much bigger problem by just taking care of it right now. I think I'm more nervous about him being awake for the procedure (granted, hopped up on valium and with local anesthetic shots) and him feeling the heat of the laser and jerking his leg during the procedure more than anything else. It's amazing how our brains work "worst case scenario" scenes so well *sigh* But it just doesn't make sense to knock him out for something that should only take a few minutes. Either way, hopefully it's a quick flawless appointment with a tiny new cut to heal up and we're not creating a mountain of a problem out of a molehill.... *fingers crossed* Thanks in advance for your good thoughts for my sweet boy.
