Think good thoughts for Joe today please. He's getting a small lump (top of a pencil eraser size) lasered off his leg today. It looks a lot like a scab, but hasn't healed in nearly two months and has just gotten smoother, and the fine needle biopsy came back inconclusive because it was filled with so much blood. The doctor doesn't really "think" it's anything to worry about but we're taking it off just in case, especially since it grew some the first 4 weeks. I'd never forgive myself if it grew into something bigger and we could have prevented a much bigger problem by just taking care of it right now.
I think I'm more nervous about him being awake for the procedure (granted, hopped up on valium and with local anesthetic shots) and him feeling the heat of the laser and jerking his leg during the procedure more than anything else. It's amazing how our brains work "worst case scenario" scenes so well *sigh* But it just doesn't make sense to knock him out for something that should only take a few minutes.
Either way, hopefully it's a quick flawless appointment with a tiny new cut to heal up and we're not creating a mountain of a problem out of a molehill.... *fingers crossed*
Thanks in advance for your good thoughts for my sweet boy.
