    Poor Lou, I suspected he had a parasite. Waiting for result but I am certain. This his 3rd time, He has been treated with the powdered stuff you put in kibble. Now Vet seems to think we should use an antibiotic.. Anybody else ever have this reocurring pariasite!

    Talk to your vet about senior suppliments especially for bones and joints. Now is the time.

    Gabapentin and Adequan shots have keep Lou comfortable. I will give him Tramadol when necessary. Investigate Tumeric also.

    I would ask vet about the Gabapentin and Adequan shots. The shots have really worked for Lou. If Adequan is your choice, make sure it is manufactured by Navartis and ask if your vet will price match. It is expensive.

    Is she on any meds? My Lou is on Gabapentin which has helped him greatly. We just started the Adequan shots which have kept him from sinking. We take short walks, and depending on the day and weather we can go a little longer.

    Lou has been showing some pain in the area of his anus. I have treated the area with Desitin. He really cringes when I apply the ointment. I know his stools have been looser and I am figuring this is the cause of his inflamed anus. Poor baby. Anyone have this happen? He is 14 and has other issues but this poor guy is hurting. I gave him a Tramadol.

    I have Petfirst for Lou who is a senior. I pay about 17.00 a month. It is a basic plan with a small detuctable but I have been reimbursed for meds, urine tests etc. They have other plans also.

    Lou has starting to be relaxed and more comfortable when changing positions. I am thrilled these Adequan shots are giving him some relief. Now to be able to afford them !!

    Any info on Adequan shots would be helpful. Work, don't work? Lou is 14 and having a difficult time transitioning laying down to getting up. His walk is better then him standing still. Also on Tramadol 50 mg. when needed, Gabapentin 100mg. 2x daily. Some say to increase the Gab. for more relief. He also has kidney disease and receiving Enanapril 2x daily. thanks

    Yes, most of the time rest and steroid does help. I highly recommend a Vet. chiro or water P/T to keep alignment.

    My Lou has early kidney failure, he is 14. My vet suggested 1/2 of .81mg daily.

    Wellness Complete Health Healthy Weight Deboned Chicken & Peas Recipe Dry Dog Food. I use this food for my Lou who has kidney issues. Compare this food to others. I find the protein and phosphorous are lower.

    100mg is good for Lou. He has been on it for months.

    My girl had a abrasion under the eye, very close to the eyeball. I made a paste of sugar and water and carefully applied to area. The wound closed in a few days. However, if you decide to use this paste, please be careful not to get it in the eye. Perhaps apply with a cotton swab.

    My soon to be 14 year old, Lou, has had bowel incontinence for the last week. He has hind leg weakness is on Gabapentin. He also has LP, which is newly diagnosed. I have no problem dealing with the bowel incontinence which is only during the night. I do let him out several times before retiring but it happens. How do others deal with this?

    How much should be given of the Olewo carrots. Mine are consistency of oatmeal also. Every meal? How many tablespoons?
