  1. I wish Scooby wasn't so busy Sending my sympathy and hugs
  2. Sending more prayers. Is Dr. Gaston close to you?
  3. I wished that worked for Mahogany (who btw had her pedicure today--nails and 3 corns removed). Huston used to be very bad when I got him. Ever since he had his nails done 2 years ago by two people, one of which pinched his hoo-hoo while the other clipped, he hasn't been too bad. I threaten him with hoo-hoo pinching
  4. Ask how many greyhounds they have in their practice. Also, the college the vet graduated from may tell you how familar he/she is with greys. A vet not familar with greyhounds can cost you a ton of money. EKGs, blood work, etc because they are not used to listening to greyhound hearts, not familar with greyhound blood values, etc. I had one vet tell me SieSie was in congestive heart failure and she was fine. I've had vets look at blood work and think the dog is fine when in fact there is a problem. If you have a vet willing to work with you and learn, it's worth training him/her. I have one that is great with greys and quite experienced treating them, and I still took the article on hulling corns to him. He read it and did Mahogany's corns
  5. Mahogany goes in for her pedicure tomorrow She has her corns hulled and nails cut. She hollers when they do her nails but they get them done. Forget the corns--when they need done, they sedate her and do both. First time in 30+ years I've had to take one to the vet <sigh> She litterally goes into a severe panic attack. I, too, have tried various drugs and quite honestly, don't want to knock her out at home--I'd rather they did it in the vet's office.
  6. How long off the track? You need to do a thyroid panel, but not before he's been off the track for 6 months
  7. Sending more prayers. Has he had any acupuncture?
  8. Not in your bonnet is it? Makes you want to grab the gas can, doesn't it?
  9. I think my then DH used gasoline, but probably not the best thing to do Looking up links: http://www.alaskaoutdoorjournal.com/Depart...owjacket50.html http://cru.cahe.wsu.edu/CEPublications/eb0643/eb0643.pdf
  10. Did you do a PCR test for e ewingii? What about the other tick diseases? I bet she has a tbd not yet identified. Did you treat for 8 weeks? Sending lots of prayers!
  11. I am glad he's doing a little better. I would never feed a dog with pancreatitis chicken. Years ago Rosemary's dobe went into pancreatitis from chicken two or three times. Hold the chicken, no pancreatitis. Jodie had chronic pancreatitis and I did not use chicken. Beef or lamb or fish
  12. Tavist1 I've had several greys on it (currently Mizzy)
  13. VF lesions can look like osteo. Erlichia can cause limping.
  14. Burp was like this all the time. He had h pylori and gastritis. Once the h pylori was cleared he was better, but never best. It was a long, hard road to keep his stomach in line. I'd keep him on pepcid or zantac for several days even if he seems ok. They will do this when their stomach hurts. I could not convince one vet that excess water drinking and eating anything was caused by Burp's stomach hurting. They either want to eat anything/everything or nothing. No inbetween!
  15. I'm glad you got there and that your father is doing well!
  16. Aww... poor Bill! Sending prayers all goes well!
  17. Make sure a specialist reads the xrays. Sending prayers!
