  1. Of course. What a question. I will always remember him... and Andy, too.
  2. We had that with a bunny. My sister's girl was out in the garden. And before I could even yell SHE IS HUNTING.... a dead bunny lay on the sofa in the living room in front of dear old Andy.
  3. Little Mooney sensed something moving behind the hedge..... a pesky cat..... a pesky bunny..... maybe a big fat pidgeon.... And off he went to catch his prey..... .... and as life goes.... the mighty hunter became the hunted Morale: Don't take your hunting luck for granted. It may come back as big black and white greyhound and bite you in the a....
  4. I thought... with a baby hound in my home, my furniert might not be super safe anymore. So I went and bought 2 pieces of chewing wood (coffee tree and olive tree) for the little landshark. What a hit they were. Abu, who never plays with toys, took both toys. Now I have at least 5 pieces of these things and every dog in our house loves them... ... and the furniert is still safe.
  5. Yes, but it doesn't bother him yet. A friend of mine is a vet specialized in orthopedic surgery (part reason we adopted Mooney). He will take a look at him and we will see what we can do. Plus he will join the rest of my pack at their physiotherapy appointments evers 2 weeks.
  6. When we adopted Baby Mooney we were told that he was a little shy. We feared that he would eventually be overwhelmed with my strong and adventurous pack. Seems we didn't need to worry. He is as sweet as sugar and also a little rascal. And no - he does not pinch her. He just pokes her with his mouth closed.
  7. Happy Gotcha Day at the bridge, Rocket. You can't add more days to life but you can add more life to the days. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
  8. I didn't want another dog so soon after Paddy past. But I had a phone call about an adoption I help with with our little adoption group. My friend Iris told me that a very young greyhound would be on the hauler, only 17 month old, with a shorter hind leg. He was never trained and raised in a home but he will need a home with no stairs and some physiotherapy sessions, too.... I told Roger about him, we discussed it and decided to take him. Mooney is a small boy but with a strong mentality. He is afraid of nothing and very funny. He will be a great friend for Saoirse.
  9. Sorry, to disappoint you. Mooney is his original name. I just kept it.
  10. As many of you know we went on a road trip to southern Germany to fetch our new boy. Welcome to our pack, little Mooney Everyone is tired and alteady asleep. I will write an update once all the greyts are awake.
  11. Mine are somewhere over the Atlantic, I guess.... But 2 cards have arrived already.
  12. Saoirse than and now 4 years living in our pack, creating havoc and being the princess of chaos. Happy Gotcha Day, my sweet girl.
  13. First pictures have just arrived. Meet Mooney. He has arrived at his foster home where he will stay until I can fetch him, mid december. He is a small black boy, 1,5 years old, was never trained and lived as a pet with his breeder.
  14. Oh no. I'm late. Happiest of birthdays to you, sweetie.
  15. Friends.... I have an announcement to make. Christmas will be early this year. I'm so excited. I'm off of work from the 13th until next year (no worries, paid holidays) and guess what will happen. Something that involves a longer drive to southern Germany with an empty car..... and a way back home with..... black fur, a wet nose and oh, so much love. I'm so very excited. And now.... you are too.
  16. I nearly got to keep the black but his mum didn't want to give him up.
  17. They like each other but when the boys run together they are muzzled. Those two big blacks get really competetive.
  18. We got us some sweet visitors while they got a new kitchen in their home. To rule out the possibility of someone slipping through the door when the kitchen people arrive, we got us those two cuties for 2 days. I miss a house full of greyts.
  19. Gelsey, you just have to be a crazy greyhound princess. Lots of running and playing and long walks in the countryside will keep you in great shape. And if you need to build up some muscle mass in addition to your exercise, you can add a little rice bran oil to your food. It helps to build up muscle mass and prevents muscle loss in elderly greyts.
  20. Saoirse had a lot of fun in the garden yesterday. It could have been a great set of photos if the apple tree hadn't insisted on being in the pics as well...
  21. Good morning everyone at camp greyhound. Happy National Punkin Day
  22. He ran a little bit with her. She started barking and him and tried to grab him by the neck. He barked at her, she was offended.... game over
  23. That's because she's so incredibly active. She loves to run and play with her stuffies.... or with poor Abu. It always includes a lot of barking and growling, too. Saoirse weighs between 33 and 34 kg. Abu is 35 kg.
