  1. And she just turned 7 yesterday. She still got the looks... not bad for an unraced pup.
  2. When did the baby get so tall? The age old question of older siblings...
  3. The veterinary university in Hannover (Germany) does a blood test to determine the time the blood pallets keep together before they fall apart. It is used to diagnose the greyhound bleeding disorder.
  4. He has his own coat of arms ... just saying 😁
  5. As many of you know, I adopted Mooney a year after my beloved Paddy died. Strange coincidence... Mooney was born the day Paddy left for the bridge. But with this crazy little critter I gained a wonderful friend in his breeder Karen. She still feels involved in her boy's life and gifted him and his new siblings Abu and Saoirse with these gorgeous coats. In addition she invited us to visit her in her humble home to get to know her kennels (dogs live as pets in the small house 😉) and go to the track with Mooney to promote greyhound adoption. So, 2024 we will be travelling from Germany to Ireland to visit Mooney's little hut he was born and raised in 😍 Kilcolgan Castle, Galway
  6. Must be. Because he was born the day my boy Paddy died. What a coincidence.
  7. The Chart Polski (Heart Polskee spoken) is a great dog. A friend of mine has got one. He is a large dog, bigger than my irish greyhounds. And as all eastern european sighthounds they tend to be slightly stand-offish, very courageous, autonomous and often not really friendly with other dogs. You need to be as strong in character as they are for them to respect you and follow you as their leader. I like Kano who I know since he was a puppy but I am also always careful around him.
  8. Mr. Mooney went hunting for chicken the garden... He was successful
  9. I got a gorgeous calendar from an artist friend of mine. I thought you might enjoy it, too. So I'm going to share it with you... through the year... month by month. January
  10. I am using a digital camera with a telephoto lens. So mostly the dog is +/- 10 metres from me. I also choose a point to stand where they most likely don't run me over, like with my back against a tree or the hedge.
  11. I tried again today... with my new camera lens.... it is defective or it tells the hidden truth...
  12. I accidently fed him after midnight. Does anybody know what to do? They said greyhounds were low maintenance... What should I do???
  13. As an european member involved in greyhound adoption from Ireland I can tell you that several american groups get irish hounds to adopt. It might be worth a look. And if you find a hound for you, I can help you connect with previous owner, breeder or trainer if you like.
  14. No. We are even considered rabies free. You just need your normal paper work... like pet passport.
  15. https://www.hundeurlaub-wach.de/ It is a wonderful area in the middle of the moorland, 20 minutes to the sea. Plus you can bring as many dogs as you like without a raise in the price. Every cottage comes with 1000+ square metres of secured yard. The biggest property is 11.000 square metres.
  16. A year ago this little fellow arrived on a hauler from Ireland. He was 15 month old. A friend of mine fostered him until I could fetch 2 weeks later. Amazing how much difference a year makes. On arrival... Some days ago... Mr. Mooney ❤️
