  1. Thank you for these positive stories. So another question is how are the pups with stairs? Unfortunately we have a split level house so there are stairs everywhere. Amelia was doing pretty well the last few days cruising around on 3 legs… sadly she slipped at the bottom of the stairs this even and she banged her leg. Ugh the cries that came from her were heart-breaking. We gave her some pain meds and a sedative so she is quiet now.
  2. That’s not bad…. Geez I was thinking months! But I forget how fast dogs recover and adapt.
  3. I need to speak with the doctors in person... the main news was given to me second hand by my husband who took her for the visit. So I am not entirely sure what they are waiting to get back. I tend to agree... one of our last greys had chemo and he faired well on it, not really any side effects. And thinking of it that way, that would be worth it... How long did it take for Willa to heal from the surgery? We do have insurance for our pups... even if we didn't, money for the surgery and treatments is not a factor in a decision.
  4. Good for Doolin! I know, I know, I always feel for the poor bunny. I think every grey I've had has brought us bunny kills. It's hard to feel bad because they are so proud and I can't help but think, "You FINALLY caught the rabbit!"
  5. Thank you everyone... and yes, I'm probably going to be asking questions. Like I said, we don't have the entire picture yet. My husband is already thinking the amp route. I'm on the fence... why? Well the vet said a normal extension of life from amputaiton/chemo is 10-12 months. Yes, they said there are cases where you get 3+ years. I'm just not sure if I want to put her through that only to get 10 months? Then there is the other side where if we don't, that bone could get brittle and could fall apart one day, and how terrible and painful would that be? She is already not using that leg anymore. SIGH.........
  6. I am so sad to be looking at this thread... Why? Because our poor Amelia was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma. We just found out yesterday afternoon after taking her to the vet for tests due to her limping recently. She had a lump and hot spot by her right, front ankle. I am overwhelmed with looking through info, and we haven't even gotten all the info back from the vet... waiting on scans and final tests. Amelia is 6... she turns 7 (god willing), in August.
  7. I have a few strands I string up around the house. They are so beautiful. I hate taking all the Christmas things down… the house looks so bleak after.
