  1. Everything these folks have said! I will say that scared feeling will go away... don't let go of the leash, but as you form a bond with your hound, and they settle in, you won't feel like you need a death grip on them. They will stay with you. We have always had our greys on leashes outside of our yard, and will continue to do so. You many critters and cars around. On another note, if you do adopt a grey, you are gonna fall in love! Good luck!
  2. Aw thx! Yeah just so busy, especially this month!!! Hoping we at least get to GRtB.
  3. I am sad we aren't making it this year... just so much going on this year already. Have fun for us everyone!!!
  4. Poor Cindy and Zeke… I am so sorry to hear this. Run free sweet Zeke
  5. Update: Amelia is doing well after her 3rd treatment. There was a mix-up and we did not get the anti-nausea meds. So far she is fine without. She gained weight too which the doctors were happy about!
  6. Good morning grey peeps! Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend. Update: Amelia was able to get her 3rd chemo treatment this morning. Next treatment she will get a chest scan to make sure all is well and treatments are working. In the meantime, she is very much her usual self these past couple weeks. Amazing how she is acting like nothing has happened!
  7. Hair is slowly coming in. She doesn't have a lot to begin with LOL so hopefully things cover a little.
  8. Another little update: Amelia's personality is really coming out lately... She has started being antagonistic towards Carmen when they go out. There have been some zoomie sessions together as well!
  9. Well, after my freak out today I have good news! Went out to dinner, when we got home we let the girls out. Their MO is is to sprint from the door to the far corner of the yard chasing shadows or goblins. Amelia has always been faster than Carmen…. Well wouldn’t you know it. She STILL beat her!
  10. She looks amazing. Go Willa!!!!!! Thank you for bringing me down to earth!
  11. Oh thank you! Wow I really had myself worked up this morning! She is doing so well. BTW - how long has it been for Willa? When did she go through surgery?
  12. Here are 3 pics I got: The first pic shows it the best. But it runs along the white fur, next to the scar line that runs right where the red fur is. Not sure if the surgeon did that on purpose but it sure hides the scar well! I do recall the “bulge” a bit when we had her shirt on, etc. I think I am being paranoid at the moment. But a second, 3rd, 4th set off eyes from you all is great. Thx!
  13. Ok gang, I need to be talked off a ledge… This morning I noticed a bit of a “bulge” on the right side of her neck. It’s not huge, it’s not hard, and it’s not super soft like fluid. It is right in front where her stitch line is/was on her shoulder. At first I panicked, but then I’m wondering with a lot more activity, is it just her muscles developing asymmetrical on her right side now? I mean, she isn’t the on both sides anymore, holds her head a bit to the right, etc for balance. Appetite, activity, etc is all good and normal. Anyone experience this? Of course we will be watching this for any change. I can take a pic for location reference if you all want. Thx.
  14. I have the Help 'em up harness that was sent to me for Amelia. She doesn't seem t like it so I could send it to you?
  15. Happy Friday folks! We took another walk yesterday. Went little further. I had to coax her to turn around... she wanted to keep going. But she already had the long tongue, especially since it was very warm yesterday. She is so stubborn... was kind of nice seeing that part of her personality again. Also, 3 days after 2nd chemo treatment. Everything is going well. She actually seemed even better this time vs last, and they had up'd the dose.
  16. Definitely go to the vet and get it X-rayed. Hoping it’s just from the corn!
  17. HAHA I didn’t notice as I trying not to get pulled off my feet!
  18. FIRST walk post surgery! Boy you were right when you said she’d be speedy! I had to jog to keep up! We just did about a 1/3 of a mile to start out. She did great and was so happy to be out!
  19. Well ok! Update: Amelia's appt went well! Chemo treatment #2 successful. Pre-bloodwork check looked good. Her side looks great... we took the shirt off her now. I think she is glad to have a break from it. We asked about the licking and they did say its probably from the IV. Also asked about the occasional yelps... they are most likely due to internal things still healing from surgery. Luckily they are far and few in-between. All-In-All a good appointment!
  20. She goes down slowly, controlled which is great. I hope she gets more courage as time goes by and she does the stairs. She absolutely HATES being picked up, so I hope she figures it out.
  21. Update: Amelia continues to do well. She seems to go DOWN stairs fine, but hesitates to go up them. Hoping she gains confidence with that. I sewed a sleeve on the shirt so she would stop licking her leg. Will probably address this with the vet, although I feel like she is just licking her leg because her side is healing and itches like crazy and can’t get to it, so she is just licking whatever she can… with a vengeance. Her 2nd chemo treat is Tuesday morning. Hoping that goes as well as the first.
  22. I use Pacific Free Range Broth - Low Sodium. Only 20mg sodium. It does how onion powder.
