  1. one of the most beautiful sights in the world when you're worried about a hound.
  2. What a terrifying ordeal. I'm so glad LaVida is making a good recovery. I hope you and Chris get a chance to catch up on all the sleep you've missed during the whirlwind.
  3. Wiki and Paddy...those photos indicate the presence of anxiety in the humans behind the wheel. My Ma starts saying, "Nate, lie down. Nate, lie down." the minute she pull out of the driveway. Nate, KNOT lying down
  4. Mark, I hope this too shall pass, and soon. You'll be better off with that muzzle and stool guard.
  5. Score 1 for Pinky! MoMo was a natural sitter. The boys have never opted for sitting on their own, but MoMo did it often and clearly found it comfortable.
  6. My first Oriental Shorthair, the magnificent Yoda, enjoyed leash walks. I did limit them to our own backyard for general safety. I'd laugh at him, stalking along on his leash, the Jungle Beast prowling his domain. With his nanny in tow.
  7. Sweet snuggles are the best, with or without that MM payout.
  8. Punkin', you've got quite a collection of buddies to nap with.
  9. Aw, but you're all bundled up and ready to go! I bet your Mom is bundled up too. Just go and get it over with. Of course, Nate, and before him, MoMo and Spirit, would simply have turned around and gone back to bed.
  10. Carrots got down the gullet here but there are sometimes "grumbs" (Richard Skipworth, Greyhound crumbs).
  11. A lovely, thought provoking article. Thank you for sharing.
  12. Jerilyn, I remember watching the dogs in their long runs at the "puppy farm" Bill and Cathy Lambert had. I was visiting MoMo Meany Pants. At any rate, what you describe sounds a lot like the activity of Greyhounds in those runs. The runs were long rectangular, fenced areas that were side by side. Each run housed 3 Greyhound pups/adolescents. The dogs spent a lot of time running back and forth along the fence line, barking at each other--talking smack. They got strong and practiced running in groups, lots of direction changes. It was clearly a fun activity, though if it was happening in my back yard, I'd try to quiet it down as well.
  13. That is beautiful. Spare, elegant, evocative. This will be great fun through 2023!
  14. Such as sweet tongue out snoozer.
