  1. I have started putting a shake of parmesan cheese on Ruby's food and haven't had a bit of kibble left over in days.
  2. I ordered some and got mine yesterday too ! Did you notice if they changed her poo ? I haven't had a reason to try them, so not sure if they will work for Ruby or not, but will try them the next time we are going for a ride or to the vet. Sure hope they work for her since nothing else has. I was so impressed with how quickly the biscuits came. I think they were here 3 days after placing my order. Amazing.
  3. Thanks everyone. Ruby will LOVE these !
  4. I keep reading on here about people giving Frosty Paws to their pups, and have also seen a few posts about homemade ones. Where do you find them in the stores ? Does anyone have a recipe they would share ? Has anyone ever had a problem with them, such as diarrhea ? Thanks.
  5. I tried to order the biscuits earlier today but the code wouldn't work. I just tried the JULY4 and it worked great. I can't wait to see if they will help my sweet, high anxiety girl. She doesn't like car rides either and this would be wonderful if they work. Thanks for the suggestion. I had never heard of them. I have tried Rescue Remedy with zero results.
  6. We have tried the Colmicalm, Paxil and several others before giving up and letting her be outside when we are gone. That solved her SA problems with us leaving and I like that she isn't on any drugs daily. I am going to order those biscuits and give them a try. Thanks !
  7. I did give her the Xanax about an hour before the noise started. We have tried several meds in the past to try to lessen her SA but none of them worked, including the Xanax. I was just hoping to ease her misery a bit, but no luck. Poor girl. She hasn't came out of her crate now in about an hour but is just standing there. I am headed to bed and hopefully with me a bit closer and the fan on for noise, she will lay down. Where do you get the Calm K-9 biscuits ? I have never heard of them and would love to get some.
  8. Tonight for dinner I gave Ruby her dinner with a Xanax that she was given for her S.A. I also gave her some Rescue Remedy that I put on her food. None of this seems to be helping at all. She has been pacing back and forth to her crate in the bedroom for the last 2+ hours. I have tried to sit with her, talk to her, turn the TV up louder and remain calm, but she is in such distress. I know there is not much else I can do but I feel so bad for her. I will be so happy when this week is over and the firecrackers end.
  9. Beautiful boy................so sorry.
  10. I started feeding the lamb and rice kibble from Costco, which I think is from the same manufacturer ?. She is doing well but really doesn't eat much of it. She is only eating about 3 cups a day but seems to be maintaining her weight. Her farting has stopped so think we will stick with it for a while.
  11. So sorry to hear about Ekko.............I have always LOVED her name. Bless you all and may the happy rememberances make you smile.
  12. You're right about picking stuff up while on walks but I have never seen her lick her feet. She doesn't have diarrhea, I am just worried about giving it to her from the probiotics. She hasn't farted once since starting the new food but the night is young.
  13. Thanks everyone for the ideas. I didn't give her anything this morning because we haven't had any fumes yet. I did switch her to the lamb and rice food last night, but only fed a cup. This morning I gave her 1 1/2 cups and will see it goes. Maybe the food will make the difference, if not, will try the Forti Flora I think. I found it on Amazon. We did have her stool tested about a month ago and it was clear. She only goes in our backyard or on walks with a leash and she isn't one to drink out of puddles or eat anything while out. Now if I could only get her back to pooping in the bark instead of the lawn. Wonder what that is all about ? Appreciate your advice !
  14. thanks hikinghounds. You didn't notice any sense of urgency or your dog needing to go more frequently ? My concern is they advertise these probiotics to help "regulate your tummy" so I take that to mean relieve constipation. I know the good bugs are good for our guts but just want to make sure I am not going to be causing diarrhea. I am hoping to relieve the farting and have tried yogurt but it has not helped recently. I don't think she gets enough in a T. of yogurt.
  15. KF- thank you. I want to avoid any "surprises" as she has never had any accidents and I would like to keep it that way. I took them for a while and did notice they helped my tummy but not enough to keep taking them. I have Pearls and was wondering if I could use those ? I don't usually see her going potty because we have a large backyard and I turn her out. I do know she goes 2 times a day though. Appreciate your help and will look into the brand you recommended. I do go to Costco frequently.
  16. In the food & dietary section I posted about Ruby's food issues and the fact that she now has horrendous gas and soft poop. I noticed that yogurt and probiotics are mentioned. I looked online and saw a lot of probiotic pills, powders and chews for dogs and the ingredients look very similar to the ones I have in my cupboard. Is it safe to give these to Ruby to see if they would help ? Is there a limit to how much she should ingest at one time ? Does this change her poop schedule at all ? I don't want to do anything to upset her tummy even more but it seems like this might be a good thing to try. Would love to hear your experiences.
  17. Hadn't thought about a bacterial overgrowth. If this continues through the weekend she will be headed to the vet as soon as I can get her there. mbfilby-the salmon one is the one she stopped eating out of the blue. our Costco does have that one but she won't eaat it. She did do well on it so we may look into the Nutrisource you mentioned. I did give her the lamb and rice tonight but only gave her 1 cup. So far no toots. I know it will take a while though and like I said above, will take her to the vet again if this continues. I don't know anything about SIBO. Not sure what it even stands for but will take her in if she needs it. I do wonder why the change in where she poops though ?. I am not too thrilled with the lawn pooping.........ugh.
  18. mbfilby-So this may be a stupid question, but is nutri-source the brand ? I didn't see a grain free version at Costco and we read every bag. If Nutri-source is the brand, where did you get it ?
  19. Ruby wouldn't drink water either until we switched her from a shiny bowl to a big old dull metal bucket. Weirdos.............
  20. The gas was only gone for a couple of days. It has now gotten much much worse. Switching to the lamb version tonight. Hope it helps because it is rainy and cold here in Oregon so can't leave the windows open. It is HORRIBLE !
  21. Amazon has it too. How do you keep it on the dog toothbrush long enough to get it all over ? I tried it and it just melted right off and she swallowed it in one gulp. Are there any concerns about diarrhea ?
  22. Been having trouble with Ruby and food for several weeks and have posted about it here a couple times. She used to eat the Salmon version from Costco and then out of the blue, just stopped eating it. I think it might have had to do with that recall. Then I tried the chicken one from the feed store and it was also recalled. So for a while I made dog food for her but that was too much work, so we decided to try the chicken and rice one from Costco. She likes it OK but the farts are unbearable. She has been on that maybe a month now ? Farts are getting much worse. She even stunk up the bedroom last night, and when I woke this morning, seriously thought she must have crapped her kennel. She hadn't thank goodness but I did have to spray and light some Scentsy. A couple days ago we bought the lamb and rice food from Costco and I was going to slowly give that to her but have decided to just dive right in with it for tonights meal. She also has had runny poo and has started pooping in the lawn for the first time ever. She has always gone along one side of the fence in the bark, 2 years now. I know she doesn't have worms as she has been recently tested and also gets a monthly med. She seems happier than ever and her coat looks great. Any ideas ?
  23. She's a pretty one. Lucky you !
  24. Her gas seems to be gone now so all is well. I am considering changing to the lamb version next bag though. I have been giving her one raw meal a day since I started this thread and she loves it, and her teeth are looking better even though I brush them. Thanks for the replies.
  25. I started making my own chicken jerky in the dehydrator. No worries and Ruby LOVES them. No more mystery meat treats. Just not worth it.
