Not sure if this helps....but one time my Beagle was having some type of itchy reaction to something...so the vet suggested benadryl. She just wigged out.....panicky, pacing, nervous, etc.....
She was fine on Pred.

So sorry for your loss....but what a wonderful tribute....I realized when I finished reading it that I had a huge smile on my face not just from your pictures...but from the pictures that you painted in telling Elmo's stories!

Welcome and congratulations to both you and Jack!

He is beautiful.

Sending best wishes....

I used to use the frontline plus, but have gone to revolution. However, that is not because the frontline wasn't working....rather , it's because EZ gets a bad belly from the heartworm meds and Dustin has such horrible tummy troubles anyway, that I have moved them all onto the revolution which covers heartworms as well.

Bert
in Remembrance
I am posting this on behalf of our friends, Deb and Al.
Just over a month ago, I posted about the loss of their seven year old hound, Allie. It was very unexpected.
Sadly, today, I received news that their boy Bert (who just turned 13 last month) left for the bridge.
I distincly remember meeting Bert at a greyhound reunion in 2008. He was one of those hounds who had a face that spoke to all who looked at him. People gravitated towards Bert.
Deb and Al brought Bert into their lives after he had bounced. He was a senior hound - and what always amazed me was that the more time that he spent with Deb and Al, the younger and healthier he looked. We are all grateful to them for sharing their wonderful boy with us.
Bert was so special locally, that he was crowned the first annual "king" at the reunion here in Rhode Island.
This first picture is of Bert dressed for a costume class as Mr. Spock. That is my boy Jack with him. I know Jack was waiting at the Bridge today to meet Bert.
Here is Bert (with the crown on) with EZ and Jack at the Columbus Day parade. As the "king" he led the greyhound group for the march...
Here is Bert with his sister Allie and his parents...
And finally, this picture, sadly, I posted in Allie's rememberence thread just a few weeks back...but it says all you need to know about Bert and how good he made everyone in his life feel.

I'm sorry-- I share your heartache- it can be so hard sometimes-- guess it's because we were so blessed to experience the love of our hounds. As much as it hurts I wouldn't trade it for the world.
So well said...and so true....
Thoughts are with you through these difficult days.

Congratulations on your beautiful new addition!!!

Thinking of you on this difficult day.....

Greyt news!!!

The pain doesn't go away......I think we just learn to live with it - and focus our love on the other hounds in our loves.....
Try to remember all the joy that Rainey brought you.

Continued good thoughts!!!

Welcome back!
Shadow is my JJ's half brother - he's a Jimbo Scotty baby as well. JJ's tale has a distinct J shape and several other Scotty babies on here have the same thing. Curious if shadow does!
We are right around the corner in RI.

Rest in Peace, Sweet Girl.
You were clearly Lexi's guardian angel here on earth....and I'm sure from where she is, she will serve as your angel......

Dino
in Remembrance
Now that it's all over, if I didn't have Bailey to take care of I think I'd want to go with him just so we could still be together no matter what existence that may be.
Ryan....I have been in that place...that my only motivation to keep going was the other lives for whom I had taken responsibility. But your Dino would want you to stay here...and keep sharing the stories of the hounds...and continue to bring hounds into your life.....The work you do - and the stories you have told are wonderful and serve the breed and those of us who love the breed......and perhaps that is the best and most lasting tribute that you can give to your Dino......
-
Welcome from RI!!!
-
Hmmmm.....no thoughts - but good wishes!!

Good thoughts your way.
