  1. Cleo is the only one of our hounds that needs a little help with her anal glands. (I will do almost anything for my hounds but I draw the line at expressing anal glands. ) One of the sure signs that it's time for a quick vet visit is her constant bum licking. She doesn't scoot either. It's probably about three times a year (give or take) that Cleo needs to have her glands expressed. We give Cleo pumpkin a few times a week with her evening meal.
  2. I am so sorry. Godspeed sweetheart.
  3. I am so sorry. Godspeed sweet girl.
  4. My sympathies to you and your family. Godspeed sweet boy.
  5. We were having similar problems with Cleo. She had just finished a course of antibiotics for an UTI and her follow-up test was clean but she continued to lick (obsessively) and her bed would have damp patches when she got up. We did another urine test and it came back clean again. Our vet recommended "hormone therapy" (I can't remember the name). She took one pill once a day for three days and now it's once a week. Seems to have done the trick with no side effects.
  6. I am so sorry. My sympathies to you and your family. Godspeed sweet girl.
  7. I'm just seeing this now. Hoping you had a peaceful night with your gorgeous girl. My thoughts and prayers are with you and Foxy this morning.
  8. I sent Cleo's films and test results directly to Dr. Couto. Cleo's file was reviewed the same day it was received and Dr. Couto emailed the results directly to me. I thik it took three days start to finish?
  9. Dr. Couto does not recommend bone biopsy. I don't recall the reasoning and, unfortunately, I don't have my notes from his talk with me at work.
  10. The strangest thing happened. I had to leave work. I wasn't able to concentrate or see my computer clearly. So I headed to the park. As I was waiting to cross the street, the clock at City Hall struck 2:00 p.m. As the bells stopped chiming, a Greyhound bus came around the corner. I've worked in the Financial District for 20+ years. I don't remember the last time I saw a Greyhound bus on Bay Street. I know Cannon is fine. He's with his sister. All is well.
  11. We're sending lots of healing thoughts to Rickie. Mary, please let me know if we can do anything to help you out.
  12. UPDATE: July 17th Cannon has told his Mom that it's time to go and see his sister Onyx again. Cannon will be leaving at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. A few pictures that Tania wanted to share of her beloved boy: Godspeed Cannon! We love you and we'll miss you.
  13. I am so sorry. I don't have any personal experiences but I can share the story of Elliot, a dog from our group. Elliot was diagnosed with Osteo in February 2007. His front leg was amputated and his owners chose not to do chemo. Elliot lived another 12 months.
  14. I am so sorry. Madam Fluffy, look for my monsters. I'm sure they've found the best places to chase mice and lounge in the sun. Godspeed sweet girl.
  15. I am so sorry. Godspeed sweet girl.
  16. I'm so sorry to hear of Candi's accident. Great news that she'll be home today! A good friend adopted a greyhound with one eye four (maybe more?) years ago. I can't recall the details of Divine's story but I know she's done very well in Tania's home. Tania doesn't visit GT very often but I'll send her an email and see if she has any suggestions for you. Sending many healing thoughts to Candi.

    Clyde

Last night, our little boy went to join his sister. Eight weeks to the day Bonnie left us, Clyde let us know that it was time for him to go too. He was tired and had just seemed to give up after losing his sister. Thank you for 18 years of friendship and companionship. Thank you for making me laugh every day. Thank you for catching my tears and snuggling with me when I needed a hug. We love you and miss you Clydie. We will see you and Bonnie again some day.
  20. I'm so sorry. He was a beautiful boy. Godspeed Turbo.
