    Goods

I am so sorry. Godspeed Goods.
  2. And one more update: "we called Dr G. at 8am this morning and they told us that Cannon already went for his morning walk!" :yay Way to go Cannon!!! :yay
  3. Tania's update from 10:30 last night: "I went to see Cannon right after work. What can I tell you, except my boy was out of it and he looks so strange without his beautiful white leg. Dr G gave me a few moments alone to swallow it all in. He was on heavy antibiotics, a patch for pain, and morphine. He did not recognize me at all but I had the opportunity to talk to him, to tell him I loved him, and pet his head. The surgery looks like a clean one." On behalf of Tania, thank you so much for your prayers and good thoughts for Cannon.
  4. Update from Tania: "Cannon is out of surgery. They said that he is coming out of the anesthesia. I am waiting or dr g to call me." Tania is leaving work, promptly at 5:00 and heading to see her boy. Hopefully I'll speak with her this evening and provide another update. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts!
  5. UPDATE: July 17th Cannon has told his Mom that it's time to go and see his sister Onyx again. Cannon will be leaving at 2:00 p.m. this afternoon. A few pictures that Tania wanted to share of her beloved boy: Godspeed Cannon! We love you and we'll miss you. I'm posting this message on behalf of Tania aka CannonsMom. "This morning Cannon went in for an amputation of his right leg. As most of you know, he was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma a month ago. Please generate positive thoughts for him, and please say a prayer that all goes well with his surgery." I will continue to update as I hear more from Tania. In the meantime, we're sending lots of prayers and positive thoughts to Cannon and his mom.
  6. Robin, I'm so sorry. I've been away from GT for a few days and just catching up now. Sending lots of good thoughts to you and your Loca. If there's anything we can do, please let us know.

I am so sorry. Godspeed sweet Otis.
  8. Thanks Devon. Cleo's bilirubin levels were "8". I did some searching and found Dr. Feeman's article which indicates that normal g-h values are 0 to 0.7. The only problem is the unit of measurement which, according to our vet, is different in Canada. So is ""8" high? Based on my many hours of research this morning, I'm leaning towards a TBD. I would prefer to do another blood test rather than put Cleo through the stress of a day-long vet visit. Yesterday just wasn't pretty for her...or us.
  9. Thanks very much for the link to that article. It was very helpful!
  10. A brief history: Cleo vomited yellow bile on Tuesday (February 19) evening (2x) prior to eating dinner. She refused her dinner that evening which is very unusual for her. On Thursday morning (February 21) she vomited bile again (2x) before breakfast. She did eat breakfast. On Thursday evening we decided a vet visit would be the best thing to do for Cleo's health and our peace of mind. We visited our vet on Saturday and discussed our concerns. Blood profiles recommended were HCBC, CC3, WD3. Based on those results (her bilirubin levels were slightly elevated), a bile acids test was conducted yesterday (I'm waiting for the results) and x-rays of her liver taken. The x-rays were inconclusive but our vet did indicate that Cleo's liver was enlarged and pushing her stomach laterally. She was unable to get a clear picture of her liver as the spleen and liver were overlapping. We have been referred to an internal medicine specialist on Wednesday, March 5th. An ultrasound may be required on Wednesday. She is still a bit out of it today but I think that is the after effects of being sedated for x-rays yesterday. She's not interested in eating but she's drinking and taking care of other business. It's a beautiful day here so we're going to go for a short walk in a bit. I honestly don't know what to think. Cleo is not in pain. And she's her normal grouchy self...bossing everybody around. I've done some internet searching but I'm not coming up with much luck. We're just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks in advance. And if you could spare some good thoughts for our Diva girl on Wednesday, they would be much appreciated. ETA our vet mentioned the possibility of a TBD. Would an enlarged liver be consistent with a TBD? Cleo hasn't had a tick panel done. Should we do that before an ultrasound?
  11. I am so sorry. Their stay is never long enough. Godspeed sweet girl.
  12. We feed kibble. Cole's urinanalysis also showed signs of bilirubin so he had blood work done this morning. Cleo is at the vet's now having a bile acid test and xrays of her liver. This is the second time her bilirubin levels have been higher so we're going to get to the bottom of it now. From what I can find, her levels are not that much higher than g-h normal but we're erring on the side of caution.
  13. Cleo's blood work has come back with elevated bilirubin levels. Can someone tell me what is acceptable for greyhounds? Cleo's results were "8". According to our vet, normal is 0-5. This is sort of urgent as Cleo was scheduled for a dental tomorrow morning and now our vet is suggesting liver function tests.
  14. You know you've got them comiing from us! I know tomorrow is going to be a long day but all will be well. Let us know when Jake is home again.
  15. I am so sorry. My sympathies to you and BuyCut's family. I am glad his passing was peaceful...in a place of his choosing at home with his mom. Godspeed sweet boy.
  16. OMG Tania! I'm so sorry. I wish I knew what to say or tell you. All good advice here. Please contact Dr. Couto and see what he has to say. I know you and Ted will do the best thing for Cannon. Our thoughts are with you. We love you.
  17. Yes they can. Both Cleo and Cole have had it. We used an ointment to treat.
  18. I am so sorry. Sending my thoughts and prayers to all of you. Godspeed sweet Sally.
  19. Sending prayers for your girl. Hope it is quick and uneventful.
  20. Every little bit helps! We've got our hounds registered.
  21. Hi Sam! Nice to see you and your kids here. You'll have to come down to Norwood once (when? if?) Spring hits. You know we all want to meet the new kids and see Hope and Hotwire again.
  22. In the past, Cole's urine tests always come back negative. Dr. Hall usually recommends a urine culture and that reveals his infection.
  23. I'm so sorry Alisha. Hopefully my boy, Hemingway, met him and is showing him the best places to play and all the good sun beams. Hugs to you.
  24. Are you going to see Dr. Hall? She should be able to help. Cole had some similar problems to Hobbes and we got him fixed up in no time. Give me a call if you want more information.
