  1. I'm also always on the look out for good american made, long lasting chews. King really loves to chew and it gets expensive to buy the things that really last a long time. Recently I spoke with a holistic vet who recommended apples. I was surprised but tried it. Most days I core one for each dog after dinner. They don't last too long but they are good for teeth cleaning, healthy and cheap. At first Dazie wouldn't eat the peel on the pink lady apples but now that we're on to Galas she will eat the peel. Also, it seems to be the trick we have needed for King's poo. He has always had softish poo and the fiber in the apples has provided nice easy to pick up pieces. I wish I had tried this years ago! I still give a longer lasting chew about once a week but it's better than giving them daily!
  2. I'm so sorry to hear about this. I hope you have more time with him than you expect and that you all enjoy every minute of it. For your boy!
  3. Hoping for a swift resolution of this issue for you and Dustin!
  4. Welcome back. Here's hoping that you get a benign answer asap! I know how hard the waiting is, we recently waited for rest results for my boy King and never actually got a definitive answer. Waiting is stressful. Here's hoping!
  5. Well King's Von Willebrands results came back at 91% which is in normal range. His BP was normal at the vet this morning so that's good news too. With the way things are we are going to wait and see if he has any more nose bleeds. So for now we don't have a root cause but we're hoping that it was a fluke and it wont happen again. Thank you all very much for your thoughts and prayers for us and my heart boy. I'm certain it has helped all of us!
  6. For your boy! I know what it's like to be there, we're still trying to diagnose King.
  7. I'm just getting a chance to read through this whole thread as well. I sure hope Steak is doing well and you are able to find out what works for him. I read once about someone who put skype on her dogs while she was gone so she could check in. I don't know if that is an option for you but I just thought I would mention it. Best of luck! *scritches* for steak for you
  8. Prayers for your sweet girl! I hope she and the weather get better very soon!
  9. Well no news on the Von Willebrands today, hopefully we'll have it Monday. If that comes back negative we could be looking at not knowing why the nosebleed happened for so long to start with. That will be scary but at least he's still here and not bleeding! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It really helps a lot. I'll update when we know more and let everyone know what we find.
  10. I'm so sorry to hear this terrible news. I'll keep you and Sparks in my thoughts and prayers. *scritches* for Sparks!
  11. More good news. All test results are back except for the Von Willebrands. Everything is normal including the tick panel. Hopefully we will have those last results tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I'll update when we know for sure. Thank you all for your continued good thoughts and prayers for my boy, I'm sure they've made a difference in his recovery! He's sleeping on the couch next to me and I'm so glad to have him there.
  12. Quick update tonight... still no nose bleed and I sure hope it will stay that way! The nose bleed was off and on for 40 hours and now it has been off for 55 hours! No news from the specialist today so I should hear something about the tick panel tomorrow. He's certainly back to his normal self, he has finished his dinner and is staring down his sister to see if she is going walk away from hers... Will update again tomorrow evening, hopefully with more info! Thank you all again for your continued thoughts and prayers!
