  1. Saying lots of prayers for your girl Jas, please keep us posted and I wish for you the best possible outcome.I hope Jas is comfortable.
  2. What a shame. That rip looks nasty. I hope Millie stays comfortable and heals well. Will keep her in our prayers
  3. Will keep your girl in our prayers.Try to let the scolding go in one ear and right out the other. Easy to say I know. Please keep us posted,
  4. what food do you use? I am taking him in the morning to see the vet. Science Diet "KD" for kidney disease. There's another kidney diet I believe it's by Purina which may be a little less expensive. But I would take the suggestion of the vet. That's what I did.
  5. I brought one of my boys in for the very same problem and was thinking diabetes. His urine had no color to it at all. Turned out to be his kidneys and with meds and the KD diet, he was fine. Let us know what the vet has to say, it really should be checked.
  6. One of my boys had very very low platelets but it was due to VW. As long as we were very careful with him he did okay with it. The only problem he had was when he had to have a tooth surgically extracted they had to have platelets on hand.We had to stop going to the dog park because any injury could have been life threatning for him.
  7. Will keep him in our prayers and hopefully he will stay comfortable and happy. Thanks for updating after the vet visit
  8. I don't know that I would call her a "nutjob" but after re-reading your post, I would guess the neck. Did she reommend Traumeel in gel form? I am a big fan of traumeel and use the gel and have had good success with it.If you do already have the gel, try massaging her neck with it.See what your regular vet has to say about the visit(to the holistic vet) If she sometimes doesn't have full range of motion like you said in her neck, start there and see if it helps. I wish you luck. It's so difficult to pinpoint pain with these dogs. They're sometimes too stoic. But something is obviously hurting her.
  9. I have had no experience with a holistic vet, but have had experience using acupuncture(vet wasn't holistic) I would wonder about this vet saying your girl didn't ask for acupuncture? What does that mean? Is she an animal communicator? Is she saying that as a result of a physical exam? I just find that a bit odd
  10. All of my dogs are afraid when they get to the office. They shake so bad they can hardly stand. So my vet does his best when he knows we're coming in and gets us in quickly. As for the thrashing, one of my females came out of anesthisia thrashing pretty badly so they now use a different drug and she comes out with no problem at all.And of course I don't remember the name of the drug they use.
  11. Have never experienced this but I can only imagine how scary it is. Please keep us posted as to how Gilbert makes out at the vet. Will be thinking about you both for the very best outcome possible.
  12. I am so sorry, you took such good care of Jupp and he is at peace, pain free and in a better place for sure.He runs with the best...will keep you in our thoughts
  13. I am so very sorry. I always feel that when one is lost, they take with them a piece of everyone's heart. I hope Scooter lets you know that he's fine, and pain free. You both will stay in my prayers.
  14. What a wonderful tribute, and I still can't stop crying. Sweetpea sure is a heck of a writer.
  15. I am so glad they got to the bottom of this. Poor girl is now going to feel so much better. Great news, thank you
  16. I hope they get to the bottom of this quickly, obviously something is going on with this little girl. This is just an idea about the lack of drinking. One of my 10 yr old females does not drink enough and as a result, she has had a few UTI's. There is nothing medically wrong with her,she doesn't drink enough. She showed interest when I had a glass of gatorade so I lowered the glass and she drank every bit of it. So now the water dishes are always filled with fresh water and one with gatorade. Misty hasn't had a UTI since. I know it may sound foolish, but it worked.
  17. If you don't want to kill them, there are humane rodent traps
  18. Want to add our good thoughts as well, and plenty of prayers for Gus
  19. Been down this road....sending good thoughts and a lot of prayers for Lou.
  20. I was just at the vet today, my little girl has kidney disease which is controlled by meds and the "KD" diet. She had a kidney profile done today and they always take urine to check for protein. If they're just checking for protein, my vet lets me get the sample and I just make sure I get it mid-stream. But if they're checking for bacteria, they want a clean sample and get it with a needle.
  21. Sending good thoughts and plenty of prayers for Sam
