  1. From reading on this site, it does seem like vets underdose Tramadol. Why is that?
  2. When I ended up at the e-vet because my boy had bone spurs, he was pacing, crying and hanging his head way down low. His nose was almost touching the floor. They gave him a shot of etogesic(spell?) and it took about 25 min for him to relax enough to be able to lay down. I remember the vet telling me he must feel like he broke his neck. I also was giving him 100mg of Tramadol twice a day.He slept comfotable that night but it seemed like forever for the pain meds to kick in, but it was about 25 min. Hope your boy feels better and more comfortable soon
  3. My oldest has had problems with her gums which eventually effects the teeth, and her breath was the worst. My vet recommended wiping her gums daily with Biotene after brushing. The redness in her gums is totally gone and her breath is 100% better. And I'm sure she's more comfortable. Someone here made mention once that Biotene contained something that was harmful to dogs, but after a call to UC Davis and of course my own vet, I was told that Biotene is safe and to continue to use it.It's made a world of difference. Can't comment about the strange walk as I've had no experience with it. Thank you for taking this boy in and loving and caring for him.
  4. Still praying for your girl. Is it normal for this to progress so fast? I hope she keeps eating
  5. I'm happy for you and Jupp and I bet he'll be thrilled to be home with you. When you can, please post how he's doing. We'll keep him in our thoughts and prayers
  6. Still keeping him in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he'll be comfortable and the pain meds work well.
  7. The one on his mouth looks pretty nasty, poor guy. Hope he heals soon. By the way, he's stunning!!!!
  8. You and Sprite will be tucked in our prayers.
  9. Lots of prayers coming your way. Hopefully you will be able to keep her comfortable. I hate sounding ignorant, but why the 2-3 week wait? What will show in that time span that doesn't show now?
  10. We will have you and Tara Sue tucked in our prayers and thoughts
  11. Plenty of prayers coming from the West.Hoping she sails through with no problems
  12. Plenty of prayers coming for your baby girl
  13. I have to be honest and say that I have no idea what this experience is like, I can't even imagine. But you will have a ton of prayers coming from us, for Bodie and for you. And have a very safe trip
  14. They may be able to survive 24hrs....but will their mom???
  15. I'm so glad he's home...poor guy. I'm no expert on meds that's for sure, but what you list is safe. I know some Greys have a stomach upset with Rimadyl but there are people here more versed on that issue. I don't know anything about the patch. I've used it for people(work with Hospice) but never on my dogs. I just hope he has a very comfortable night and over the next few days. I'll keep him in my prayers for sure!! And thank you for posting the update, I was keeping an eye out for it.*****there's a post here on the patch recall, be sure to read that********
  16. I had the exact same problems but with a much older Grey. When I noticed his urine had no color, I took him in right away.He was loosing weight, and drinking like crazy. Turned out to be his kidneys. Caught it in time, treated with meds and very low protein diet and he lived a great life until he was 13. Just an idea....maybe kidneys??? I wish you the best, I'll be anxious to hear
  17. You're not whining...you love your boy and what you're going through is painful. It's heartbreaking. Maybe he is just having a bad day, only you know.I have had them go downhill so fast, and another fooled me and he bounced back. You have a connection with him, so you'll know I think. I wish you the very best and will keep you and Jupp in my prayers. Wishing most, for his comfort.
  18. Sounds like you already have great advice here, but I wanted to wish your boy well and hopes that he stays comfortable and heals quickly
  19. My God, this is the worst.I so wish I could offer some advice but I don't know what to say other than I feel so bad for this guy.I sure hope that someone with more knowledge than myself can offer some suggestions. All I can offer is a special prayer for Mikee and I really hope he starts feeling better...SOON
  20. Oh poor guy,you embarassed him. My Wayne lost his tail because of happy tail and after the initial bandage came off I used a curler so it would get air and heal. Also so he wouldn't lick it or pull stitches. I kept the curler on by using vet wrap at one end to hold it on and it worked great. Good luck, poor guy looks so sad
  21. I know you were hoping they would come out today, but maybe it's not bad news. As long as she is comfortable, that's what counts. You sure have been through a lot lately. I remember you posting about Sophie, and we both know that's a problem!! I hope Jasmine stays comfortable, I'll keep her in my prayers for sure. It's always something isin't it..
  22. Here's hoping that each day will bring Loca more and more comfort. Glad to hear she was playing a bit....good sign!!!
  23. Ouch....slipped disk is painful. Poor Sleepy...hopefully the meds will help him to be more comfortable. Will keep this boy in our prayrs
