  1. It is making me question if i should look for another vet. maybe he just doesnt know greys that much. if anyone in cleveland ohio surrounding areas like thier vet please let me know. I am not going to travel 2 hours for minor visit to columbus so a local vet that has experinece in greys would be helpful ty I will call and ask him monday. I think I will go back to wash and neosporin. If it gets worse I am taking her to a dermatology vet. there is one 40 minutes from me. I should have just done that. I guess I learn the hard way.
  2. i asked the vet if it was ringworm he said no. he said it was a bruise. i am confused now wow that is weird about spencer. Ya wonder if the gi stuff is an issue. I dont know if i should keep putting the liqui stuff on or not now. I thought i trust my vet. He said it wasnt ringworm. He told me this stuff was like neosporin but stronger and would prevent any kind of staph infection in case to prevent. any helpful thought appreciated
  3. I lucked out. Vet was in for 2 hours today. He looked at Lexie's spot on her butt. He said it looks like she bruised it somehow. He said neosporin would work but liquiclor is better. He gave me some of that to use. Anyone ever use it? It sounds kind of strong cause he said i have to wear gloves to put it on so it doesn;t get in my bloodstream. Any info on it would be helpful. I tried to look it up on line but it didn't say to much about what ingrediants are in it. He said if she gets anymore or on other places of her body, he would do a blood platelet count just to make sure she has no immune thing going on.
  4. we had the carpets cleaned before with her but i think only difference is we scotchguarded in her room this time. It has been 2 weeks since they came so carpet is dry. we can't keep her off carpet cause our whole house has carpet. what is bag balm? where can i buy that? oh and she is still upset with me cause she says that pic makes her butt look big..lol that rash that soul had looked so nasty..glad he is better
  5. i know i am a worry wart...lol..ok I will wait till morning.. she prob is sad cause she can sense my worriness. poor dog has to inherit my traits..rofl. ty all for your help. She is a therapy dog and does hospice next week so i want to make sure it is safe for all.
  6. welcome.. sounds like a lovely family..just keep the hamster out of sight from the grey...rofl
  7. i dont have any witch hazel or apple stuff but i do have cortizone. i hate to even touch around the area to make it worse for her. I guess a warm washcloth and a lil cortizone couldnt hurt. hard to wash her whole butt unless i put her in the shower and i dont want to dry her skin out. Poor pooch, she looks so sad.
  8. it has been almost 2 hours since i put the neosporin on. It looks a lot worse. I guess neosporin isnt the right thing for it? Looks like the neosporin made it worse. Could that be?
  9. oh by the way she told me she is very embarassed that her "rear" is all over the internet now..lol
  10. my spouse just reminded me that we had the carpets cleaned and 2 of the rooms were scotchguarded. Could that cause a spot? If so, do they spread or could she get them under her belly too cause she is bald too? The red does seem to be on the skin itself. At night her butt is on a pillow with a pillow case. I use dye free soaps cause of people have dermatitis so I don't think it could be that could it? If it is from the carpet what should we do to help her?
  11. i dont think she is licking it. what is a hot spot? This is new to me.
  12. I hate to run to vet if not emergency. i notice this red spot a few days ago. it looked redder today so i put some neosporin on it. Is that Ok to use or should I try something else? what could it be? ty
  13. Vet put lexie back on tyleson powder and said long term on that is no problem. He asked if i have her on a probiotic which i do. I give her the "pearl" brand because I use it myself. He said there were ones on that specifically for dogs. I am sure it was posted here somewhere but could someone tell me which probiotic is for dogs and can I get it at a store or only on line? A day later after I put her on the powder she is better already. He said she must have some bacteria overgrowth in stomach and not worth scoping unless the powder stops working cause thats what they giver for that anyway after they scop them. Any ideas or experiences with this matter is appreciated. I alos wanted to say to all those dealing with stomach problems I understand and hope by all of us communicating we can help others.
  14. ok ty i hope the tyleson powder works again i would hate to have to scope.
  15. beau and lexie should start their own support group...rofl. I have to lol to keep from crying
  16. lexie is on the iams low residue and since she cant have snacks they told me to put some of the canned low residue in ice cube trays . She thinks they are treats. so sorry that your going through this. we are having issues again too. It is so frustrating. lexie was on the tyleson powder at least a month. we just weened her off and now she has issues again. So I guess I will have to put her back on it. I have heard that some dogs can be on it a long time.
  17. Oh gosh that pic reminds of lexie doing the same thing last year in the snow. Ran around and hit something had to get stiches too. WE think the only thing it could have been was a light hidden under the snow but who knows. Anyway, it was so hard to keep it dry from the snow someone on here said to get the therma paw. It was like 17 dollars and sooo worth it. Just slips on goes all the way up their leg. I can't remember where I got it. Maybe someone on here will know. I also used gallon ziploc bags over her leg after first wrapping with saran wrap. Good luck. I feel for you and the "lil one"
  18. Ok so lexie was on the low residue beet pulp and the tyleson powder for almost two months. we weened her off the powder and for a week she was fine. Now the last two days back to diarrhea. So we realize the tyleson powder works I guess that tells us some kind of infection so i guess I will put her back on it. Can greys take that powder for years? Is it dangerous long term? I guess we have no choice cause that is the only thing that helped her. Any suggestions or thoughts are appreciated. we havent changed anything the last two days no different treats or she didnt get into anything..ect..
  19. the jewish religion and the catholic religion believe that animals have no souls but yes, there is a place in the kingdom of heaven for them. I would just explain to your son that g-d did breathe life into people but not animals but there still is a place for them in heaven that can be visited by people.
  20. (((soul)))) prayers for soul and his mom. So sorry you have to go through all of this.
