  1. oh forgot to add my vet also said to use some vasoline on their pads of the paws. it has helped keep her pads soft and stronger...she likes her weekly manicure..lol
  2. wow interesting cause our dog has had loose for over a month since coming back from a kennel and vet did all the screenings tests, meds. we even tried low residue food. pumpkin did nothing. I may give that a try. this site is great. he wants to do an edno next but we want to put it off to see if we can fix it for her. I hate for her to go through all that and they say to do what we are doing now anyway.
  3. mine has thin skin too i use a lot of neosporin and emj gel
  4. i guess bowelitis is going around...lol. i stopped the yogurt months ago but that never bothered her. yes she does eat her poop if we dont pick it up which we ussually do unless we have ten inches of snow, and always has but for the last year never had a problem till we went to the kennel. I wonder if she ate another dogs poop. dang those dogs who leave their poop around..rofl
  5. yes she was teted for that too I think we had all the tests...the bill sure seemed like it) the vet THINKS it is in her smaller instestine like some overgrowth but cant be sure unless they go in so he suggeted now the low residue diet. I will give that a week and see what happens. If not, I may try the raw before going to the specialist. I really only want to do that as last resort. She seems happy and her usually self other than that, if she wasnt I would really be worried. (not that i am anyway)
  6. she hasnt been on the fish oil for months now that post was just to help someone else but ty for caring. shes been on panacur flygl and sulfa drugs still didnt help
  7. gosh my thread is almost like yours. lexie did all the tests all negative. tried bil jac that didnt work. now doc trying low residue iams. If that doesnt work I may try raw or else she has to have an endo and colonoscopy. gl I just tried giving lexie some of the probiotics I take cause I have colitis. (must run in the genes) Maybe that will help. I am hoping this new food will help. Prayers for your dog too
  8. i wonder if my vet would give the powder withougt her having to do an endo just to see if it clears he rup? I wonder if it would be harmful to try it?
  9. oh it took my grey two wweks to learn how to go upstairs..that was a fun experience..lol I had to bribe her with cantelope..for some reason she loved fruit.
  10. our grey loves her crate. she stilll uses it it and its been a year and a half. We do however keep it in a room where she can see us. My vet told me when you pick out a dog what u see is usually how they are. Ours was soooo shy and to this day she still is but we have worked with her and she is now a therapy dog. I guess my suggestion is bring the kids and see how the dogs react to them and see what kind of dog you would like..more shy? more playful..ect... good luck and welcome to the group. I have learned so much from this site. It is really great. Oh and buy lots of gauze and tape and emj gel for injuries.. it seems they get easily hurt more than other dogs. Oh and you will learn to buy tons of stuffed animals too...lol
  11. My grey actually lets me use a battery operated toothbrush on her as long as the doggie toothpaste tastes good. It really cleans those back teeth and gums well. maybe give that a try. My vet told me Mine wont need a cleaning cause of how well her teeth looked. It is hard to get in a habit of doing it daily but it does help. Oh by the way, she has a barbie toothbrush...lol
  12. welcome.. my dogs first experience with my aunts parrot wasnt a good one. she nearly tore the whole cage down..lol I think each dog is different. If they dont get along no need to get rid of the bird just put in another room. My grey wont chase after all our geese around here but a squirrel, cat, chipmonk, or bird watch out. good luck.
  13. ok i will try the canned pumpkin ty lexie is starting the low residue diet this week hopefully this helps if not vet said next step is to see a specialist she did well at the kennel while we were away. she got to play with a basset hound, german shepperd and 2 great danes. she was in heaven the owner said oh and if the low doesnt work i have never done raw. it kind of grosses me out but i would be willing to try if it meant her not having a colonoscopy. what would the easiset raw things be?
  14. looks like yeast to me too, but i am not a vet
  15. this is very interesting cause lexie still not diagnosed. all blood tests came back ok vet putting her on low id diet tomorrow ( i will pick up food). she is happy running but looks to me like i see more ribs. He said if they scope her the specialist will prob put her on low id deit anyway so we are trying this for now. prayers for you soul. It is frustrating cause it comes on all at once for no appparent reason it seems.
  16. omg i think for the last month all i do is talk poop..lol. i can ask my vet. I will be talking to him AGAIN tomorrow regarding Lexie's poop.
  17. You are a great momma. He loves you with those snuggles. Praying he is on his healing journey.
  18. try chopped liver. i dont know any dogs who have refused that. you can buy the chicken or beef livers in the store. They are real cheap, like a dollar a pint. saute them up then put in food processor. yummmyyyyyyyy
  19. omg 48 hours..the poor dog will be giving us the stink eye for that long. I wont be able to look her in the eye i will feel so bad she will be so hungry.
  20. oh sweetie...prayers and rest for the both of you.
