I washed it and put neosporin on it. It looks all bumpy now. it is a long scrape very red and bumpy. long like the length of my elbow to my hand. ty

I wish I could post a pic but I tried before when we first got her so everyone could see what she looks like it just didn't work. I am not good at figuring how to do it withought easy instructions..sorry plus i am on dial up so everyhting is so slow. If someone could explain to me how to do it easily i could try again

Hi, My grey, we just adopted 2 months ago. We went to the neighbors house to play with their 4 month old dog. Well of course my grey just stand there while the puppy jumps all over her. Anyway, when I came home, I noticed on her almost bald butt there was a long red scratch. I washed it and put some neopsorin on it. Now it looks like it is bumpy. Could it be a scratch or could it be posion ivy? Can dogs get a posionous rash? I called my vet but they arent in today. (of course) ty for any helpfyl suggestions. It seems to be hurting her and of course that is the side she lay on.

Hi, We took our 2 year old grey into the vet. We only had her a month. She had thi round patch of loss of hair on her back which came on overnight. I was worried it could be ringworm since I don't know what that looks like. My vet wasnt sure what it was so she took some samples. We have to wiat 14 days. She did give me some fungal cream to try in case it was something. That made it more red. When we saw our dog trainer. He said it didnt look like ringworm but looked like an insect bite. Has anyone's dog had a bad reaction to a spider or other kind of bite that would cause a round patch of hair loss? Could she have rubbed under one of our evergreens and the needles made her break out in just one spot? It is hard ot wait 2 weeks. The cream just made it more red. I tried neosporin to celar the red up which it seemed to do but now it looks purple. Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Hi, we noticed this round hair loss overnight in our grey. it is on her back. it looks a little red. we went to vet she did a culture of some hairs. It will take 10 days to know. She thought maybe some kind of fungus? She wasnt sure. she was looking in her dermatology book...lol.. anyone have any experience with fungus or ringworm in their grey and how do i keep it from spreading or from us catching it?

Hi, we noticed in one small bald spot with a tiny pimple on our greys back. It came on suddenly overnight. Our vet not to familair with greys she did a biopsy and gave us this shampoo to prevent spreading if it is perhpas contagious. it says it can be used on cats and horses too. Did anyone ever use it. Does anyone know what the spot could be. the shampoo had miconazole nitrate and chlorhexidine gluconate in it. concerned owner

hI, Our shy grey we had about a month. we just noticed a small round piece of skin that has no hair on it. It is on the side of her back. It was never there before. It is like it just happened overnight. Do greys have specific skin conditions? It is small and round like but you see the skin no hair on it at all. We are worried it may spread? We are due at the end of this week to giver her the next application of advantage too. We didn't know if that will affect it? Thanks for any helpful advice.

hI, WE JUST GOT OUR GREY 2 WEEKS AGO. RMEMBER THE REAL SHY ONE...LOL WELL I NOTICED ON SOME OF THE PADS OF HER FEET THEY ALL ARENT BLACK LIKE DOGS PADS USUALLY ARE. SOME ARE RED. IS THIS FROM THE RACING OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE? THANKS

Hi, Thanks to all of you who replied. It is so nice to have people to ask questions. Now i have another. I just notice on Alexis that she is not aligned in her back legs by the ankle parts. Does that make sense? One ankle bone looks turned in. We see the vet on friday for the complete checkup but I was wondering if that is a common thing since they raced? Also, she will be getting her first bath after the stitches (Got fixed a week ago)are removed. what brand of shampoo is best as to not irritate her skin?

Her name is Alexis. She very timid but sweet. Don't have pictures yet but I will get some so I can post and brag. I thought four cups was a lot for one meal too. Purina Chicken & Rice (hard). I just do an easy walk on the leash about 15 minutes.

Good morning, We just got our grey about a week ago and are puzzled by a few things. To prevent bloat we were told no exercise for one hour before and one hour after eating. Does exercise mean no short walks (1/2 mile, no running) or are they talking about a run or fast walk which will get your dog panting? We are feeding her 1X per day in the morning (4 cups) instead of 2X (2 cups each). Four cups looks like a lot of food at one time. What is everyone else doing? She wasn't drinking so we put chicken broth in her water and she downs it fast. This is after she eats and after her short walk. Reading the other comments on this site got me thinking. I want to make sure we do what's right for our grey. We already planned to take her to the vet for a complete check-up next week. Thanks for any and all replies.
