Patsy - I really thought there would be a rainbow today but so far, nothing. It's just rain, cloud and more rain. Maybe later though... (and I have the camera to hand, just in case).
We are having Indian food tonight though, in Maddisons memory
Maddison, today would have been your 5th birthday.
You were a dreadful puppy ( ) and were the founder member of GT's Hideous Hounds Club. Can't think why. Unless it was to do with things like you eating Daddy's wallet (with notes and cards) or you pulling the Sky (satellite) card out of the satellite box and chewing it into plastic confetti or you pooping ON the computer table
You looked sweet and innocent though. This pic was taken on the day you came home.
There are so many pictures that are so *you* - it's hard to choose which to show everyone else but I think these will give everyone an idea of your character
(pic taken on your final day)
The big auction to raise funds to help cure cancer will end today. Maybe reading this thread will make all participants (and some new ones) place one more bid. If they read this after the auction closes, maybe they'll make a donation anyway.
We miss you Maddison.
xx
I am so sorry to read this I remember being so excited when you were adopting her and I've loved watching her have the most fabulous time with you and your family. Thanks for sharing her with us
Night night Susie
I remember our great friend Smitty
Night night little one. Go find Del. He loved pillows. He didn't murder his, he just lay with his head on it but he won't mind if you murder one of his collection. Tell him I said it was OK
Hello little Del
Three years ago you picked your moment to let us know it was time to leave. We didn't want you to go but more than that, we didn't want you to be unhappy or suffer so we made the call.
You were our first senior greyhound, adopted when you were 10 years old and the vet gave you a month. I was determined not to become attached to you and prepared myself to just give you care and attention and make you comfortable for the short time you would be with us. Hmmm. It doesn't quite work like that with a senior greyhound, does it? And you weren't going anywhere after a month - you'd decided that you felt a lot better thanks and were planning on staying around to torment the other dogs and say rarrrrrrr a lot if they bugged you
The pictures I have are so typical 'Del' that they surely tell of your cheek and charm without any more words.
Now you'll be with Jessie (who you paved the way for) and Maddison (who drove you nuts and is no doubt still doing so) and watching over us. Sally & Flo & Stan (and Jessie) and the seniors who are yet to come say thank you for laying the foundations so well
Always remembering you Delbert
10th Sept 1991 - 11th March 2003
You have her in your heart and thats the only thing that really matters
I'm sorry that there's been a a mix up but you know...the ashes are just the remains of what I call 'the furry covering'. The soul never ever leaves you and thats the bit thats the most important
