  7. Agreed I almost don't dare to mention this yet byt *said in a whisper* Del came here on 21st Jan and was thought to have a few weeks... We're approaching his first gotcha day......
  8. How terrible. I am so sorry for your loss. Justin was obviously very special and he must have been needed at the Rainbow Bridge to help the others who go there too soon
  9. I'm tellin' ya Marnie - it was something else Only about 10 minutes earlier, Marc and I had said we wondered what Wallace would do if he saw a squirrel - and then we found out I actually had to drop the lead because the slope was steep and I was totally out of control. It was quite scary at the time (but funny afterwards). Luckily, he only went to the tree and stopped, sniffing around the bottom, and luckily, no-one else was around to witness this most ridiculous event. More luckily, Wallace didn't run off anywhere The lesson I've learnt is that if we're going to walk him in an area where there may be small furries, he'll have to either be held by Marc or have a body harness on so that I have full control at all times.
  10. AARRGGHHHHHWAAAOOOOOAAAAAARGGHHHH - the word that comes our of your persons mouth when you spot a squirrel in the park and take off after it, draggign your human behind you like a kite (this phrase was tested out by Wallace when we took him and Maddison to a park today for a bit of a walk and an icecream All was well until we were heading down quite a steep slope. I had Wallace and Marc had Maddison. A squirrel appeared, did a squirrel dance and then headed up a tree - closely followed by Wallace and closely followed by me . Maddison, of course, was looking the wrong way and didn't notice a thing :lol)
  11. POPSICLE - the freezing cold thing on the end of your face that you use to shove into rude parts of your humans anatomy when they are unclothed. Ideal for giving your humans a fright. STOP THAT NOW YOU SWINE:- a term used every 3.1 seconds when in the company of a Greyhound puppy. Wonderful thread I've literally been crying with laughter
  12. Wallace (Irish bred - raced in UK) Dam:- Pure Class Sire:- Come on Ranger Del-Boy (English bred - raced in UK) Dam:- Roadside Gift Sire:- Pond Mirage
  13. Wallace (Class Hero) 18th July 1998, male, brindle, somewhere in Ireland and then the England Del-Boy (Highway Surprise), 10th September 1991, male, white and fawn, racing history unknown (England) If anyone can shed any light on either of my boys, I'd be very happy. I'd love to know if there are any siblings anywhere. Can't seem to find much info at all on Del-boy due to his age. His ear marking is JKZ3 (right ear) abd his dam was Roadside Gift and his sire was Pond Mirage. Edited because Maddison got in a temper cos he was left out :sigh So - Maddison. 22nd May 2001, male, fawn and white, never raced anywhere apart from around the living room
  14. I forgot to tell you Wally's racing name I'll go back and add it to my post (but just so you know, he was called Class Hero) Is that a piccy of Wally's Daddy????! He's so gorgeous

  16. I was wondering how common pet insurance was and how much you have to pay per dog in your area. Also, for those with insurance (or without for that matter) I was wondering what the most common claims were for (in other words - what sorts of illnesses or accidents are greys seemingly prone to). I'm such a nosey old bat today BTW - Maddison is insured and his policy costs approx £12 per month and it will go down to £11 once he has been neutered.
  17. What age should they start having glucosamine? Do I need it for MaddiDog?
  18. Thankfully, the only pills we have to give here are the regular worming tabs. Most of our doglets will take them in a ball of cheese or a ball of meat or a spoonful of pate (with blanks always given first). Buddy the Lurcher is a *bleeeep* when it comes to tablet taking so we have to use a combination of the GH Lady Straddle, the Bev Head Lock and the blob of butter or margarine We put the pill in her mouth, add a blob of butter - which WILL melt whether Buddy likes it or not - and then she HAS to swallow Sometimes it works first time, and sometimes we have to have a few goes.
