  1. Sending good thoughts...........
  2. Hope things are going better today..........
  3. Great news for a sweet girlie...........
  4. Great news. Now spoil him rotten (like you don't already do that) !!
  5. I encourage you to be there, for your pup and for you. It will be less stressful for the dog & you can see how gentle the process is and not be afraid when you have other pets that need help to the bridge. When I had my kitty PTS, that was the one thing that impressed me-how gentle the whole process was. You will not regret it if you be there. Hugs to you.
  6. Sending hugs to you & your pup...........
  7. Sending good thoughts your way...........
  8. What concerns me most are the lethargy along with the xray results.
  9. Here on the surface of the sun (Arizona), I have mine set at 78 degrees. I've noticed that at 80 my pup is not comfortable-especially when it's 114 degrees outside.
  10. After you let her cross to the bridge you will come to realize that stopping her daily pain is the greatest gift that you could give her. And remember, she will NEVER really leave you. She will live on in your heart. You will be amazingly strong when the times comes & we will all support you...........
  11. Possibly a cardiac problem? Kids that have an undetected cardiac problem will squat down to rest and try to get more oxygen. They get fatigued easily. It could account for her fatigue also. I would recommend seeing the specialist since they saw something on the xray in the chest area.
  12. Nevada also has some hind end issues from time to time. She will be 15 years old in August. She will tumble over occasionally when playing, but picks herself back up like nothing happened & continues to run & play. Just recently she strained her back doing something-who knows what.
  13. I've tried the PB........it doesn't do a thing for me! I think hers is from a different stash.
  14. If she begins to figure out the peanut butter hiding routine, I'm going to get the pill pockets next. I think she may be becoming addicted. Everytime the peanut butter jar comes out now, she comes over. She probably now thinks that PB gets her high........
  15. Thanks all. Things are getting better each day. I made the mistake this morning of going into my bedroom & she quickly jumped up on my quite high bed-not good for a healing back. She did fine though & looked very pleased with herself. She's been wanting to go into my room REALLY bad. I've moved into the guest room to sleep as the bed is very low. She's not been happy there. She wants HER bed back. Got a call from the Vet this morning & her ACTH Stim test and other labs are absolutely perfect. She said she is amazing for an almost 15 year old girl. She wants her on the back meds for 2 weeks & for me to keep her quiet. No high bed jumping. Someone please tell Nevada that for me.......Seniors are a hoot !! I'm so grateful.
  16. Thanks Jan! We've tried braunschweiger before & I think I have the only dog on the planet that turns her nose up at it. She even dislikes chicken livers too. Go figure. The past few doses have gone down the hatch covered with gooey peanut butter. Lets see how long it takes her to figure out my evil plot.............
  17. Keeping you all in my thoughts........
  18. Thanks all. Your good thoughts are working. We both got some sleep last night, thankfully. Today is a better day. The drugs seem to be working & she seems much more comfortable. The terrible panting is gone. The drugs are keeping her quiet too which she needs right now. And when she does get up, she seems more comfortable walking around. She even wagged her tail at me this morning. She's eating, but being a pistol at taking her meds. I'm having to get creative with hiding the pills. Cream cheese, which usually works, is being rejected. So far a piece of a buttermilk biscuit with lots of butter is working. She's a hoot..........She had her ACTH stimulation test yesterday too for her cushings disease. I'll get those results on Monday along with her super Chem panel. Did everything while we had her at the Vet instead of going back next month. Fingers are crossed..........
  19. Poor Nevada somehow strained her back yesterday. Neither she or I slept a wink last night & we were off to the Vet early this morning. She's now konked out with pain killers & muscle relaxers. She seems much more comfortable right now. Hopefully tomorrow will bring a better day..........my poor baby senior girlie.
  20. Just curious.......what is the cost per month or year for these plans? After the $$ I've spent on diagnosing & treating cushings disease, I've decided that my next GH will have an insurance plan.
  21. I'm so sorry...........sweet dreams teddy bear.
