  1. I keep looking at mine and it says 500 X 150??? Can you help me?
  2. It is called a root elevator. Sometimes you can find them on ebay. Edited to add that you should consult with your vet if you haven't had experience using one.
  3. I'm so sorry. I know he will be missed by many.
  4. I don't know you but have been following the updates on Scooter and wanted to let you know that I am thinking of the two of you.
  5. I just returned home from work and am happy to say that she is not bleeding at this time. I rewrapped her foot and put a baby sock on it. I just have to keep her off her feet as long as possible. (more crate time). Thank you everybody for the advice. Beth - who is a worrywart when it comes to her babies.
  6. Aarrgghhh... Isis pulled the bandage off and she is STILL bleeding. It isn't gushing, but she leaves little blood splatter prints everywhere she walks. I have her kennelled now and am going back to get more supplies to keep bandaging. Any thing else I need to do that I am not thinking of???
  7. She is doing well. I changed her bandage tonight and she only bled through a little bit. She is sooo calm and has been an absolute angel with all the other monsters.. err... I mean dogs. The JRT and the poodle keep going up to her and giving her kisses. This afternoon I let Isis and Carmen outside to potty together and when I reopened the door this is how I found them
  8. Congrats!! He looks like a lot of fun....
  9. Welcome, your pups are beautiful...
  10. Mine are going today to get chipped and toe nails clipped. I was shocked when I asked my vet about this as he charges $72 to place it and another $22 to register it!! I called the local shelter and they will do it for $15 and it is another $14 to register.
  11. Isis is doing so well, we went back and got her rebandaged. The vet came in and showed me what to do and gave me a bag full of supplies and didn't charge a dime! She is now resting quietly in her crate. Thank you GT for all the greyt advice. Edited to add... While we were there the first time the vet tech came in and said, "It must be greyhound day, next door is a three month old puppy." I got so excited and waited around just to see him. He came out and was soooo cute. He is a fawn male puppy from GALT. He is one of Trixie's litter. Apparantly they were at a M&G and "Tony" is a bit of an Alpha and picked on the wrong dog. He got bit in the face and ended up with a few stitches. I loved petting and loving on that little boy
  12. Thank you, I talked with the e-vet as well and they want me to bring her back in this evening to rewrap. They want her to stay still in her crate for now and let it "dry". I'll take her in later and get some bandage material for myself. Thank you for the advice. I tend to "freak out" a little when I see the pets bleeding. (ironic because I am a nurse and don't mind seeing people bleed ).
  13. Hi all, I just returned from the E-vet with Isis, (my heart dog that lives in a Alz. home). She cut her front pad on something this morning and the e-vet wrapped her up. We just got home and it has already bled thru the bandage. She cut her pad around 6am this morning and it is now 4pm. In your experience do I need to rewrap or is there something else that I need to do? I don't mind going back to the evet but what can they do to help her stop the bleeding?
  14. We used oranges in Nursing School to practice...
  15. I agree, watch them closely for a few hours and a few days.... I have found WHOLE socks from my lab in the yard... I'm not saying its good, I am just saying larger and stranger things have passed in many a dog...
  16. I've already sent in a donation. I'm wanting to know if there is a difference between being a member and a supporter. Is everyone a member and only those that donate a supporter? Or is everyone a user and then you can donate to be a supporter and that makes you a member? Not trying to be difficult, just wanting to get my verbage right.
  17. Is there a difference between Member and Supporter?
  18. That's exactly what Bellas eyes were doing. Now that I was trying to take a picture, they are normal. I'll be interested to hear what your vet says.
  19. I was just searching the internet for this type of problem as my labs eyes did this last night and again today. Sometimes she even looks like she is "wincing" them. I am going to try and get a picture.
  20. Go back to the vet immediatley, it could be compartment syndrome.
  21. ABSOLUTELY you need to get it. I brought a foster dog into my home last year and thought she was ok. A few days later she began to cough, then a few days after that mine were all coughing. My six month old lab at the time almost died because of it. I wished that I had given everyone the bordetella $10 vaccine... I spent over $1000 to get everyone healthy again and could have avoided it all with just the $10 vaccine. I definately will keep up with the bordetella.....
