  1. FTH = Follow That Hound... a preadoption group, someone soon will give you the website.
  2. Go to the local feed store and pick up some bag balm. If there is a corn in with the already cracked pad it won't hurt to put the stuff on it. It will soften up the pad tho.
  3. What a loving tribute to a loving friend....
  4. I looked at your other pictures and was wondering if it looks anything like this: This one was almost like a long "extra" nail on her pad. She (Isis) had torn up her foot about six months ago and had spent about two months healing at the vets. We think that this corn is more of scar tissue and that it may come back later. Here is a picture of the "after"... Sorry that they are fuzzy, I took it with my phone at the vets office. Edited to add that the vet only charged me $39.00 to do this... office visit and all
  5. You can also give Tums with Calcium. They have the calcium and magnesium and they are easier to chew up as they taste good. It is what we always give the patients at the hospital when they complain of "charlies horse" cramps. (also on a side note, it is ok for pregnant women to use as well. Just in case anyone is reading this ) Good Luck.
  6. I am so sorry and wish your little doxie well tomorrow.
  7. What about phoebe or phoenix? the grey that was on a gur and the girls roommate fell in love with her.... She had a funky toenail. Hopefully she'll read this. edited to add: It was Heep!!
  8. Tanks Mango, yous such a gooood fren! Lubs and Licks, Carmen
  9. What was her name? Do you know her lineage? I only ask because when I look at her I see my Carmen looking back at me....
  10. Well, we went to the vet and yes you all get the blue ribbon. The vet aspirated a little bit and looked at it under the microscope and she says it is a histiocytoma and gave us some antibiotic ointment with antiinflammatory in it to put on it for a while. She also said they usually will go away on their own but if it got any larger to come in and she could remove it. I am really thankful for this site and for all of you who help me everyday. I appreciate all the advice and will be grateful for it. I only wish there were better forums for the other breed dogs that I have.
  11. Thanks everyone for the help, Carmen is going to the vet tomorrow and I'll let you know what we find out.
  12. I noticed this sore on Carmens back foot about two weeks ago and just thought that she had scraped it on something outside. I've been keeping an eye on it and today it seems to be larger and is now a little bloody but not bleeding out or anything. It is tender to the touch, isn't scabbed over and she keeps licking at it. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before? Do you think it is just a wound or is it something that I should be worried about? I already have an appt at the vet tomorrow for another grey with a corn and can probably get her in as well. Please tell me what you think, I am so worried right now.
  13. This is actually making me tear up a bit. I have a JRT and I know that she would do anything to protect my DD.
  14. I loved this... I printed it out for my husband. We lost his 14 year old lab last year. I think this story sums up his relationship with Bozley just right.
  15. Congrats!!! And I too am interested in the water thing....
  16. He looks so sweet... What is the hole on his side from in the third picture?
  17. I am so excited, this will be my first GT event.

    Baby Ceecee

I am so sorry for your loss. I must have missed CeeCee's story, can you tell us more?
  19. That was such a beautiful tribute to such a beautiful dog. Thank you for sharing it with us. He looked like he was a dog that was full of spirit.
  20. I am 32 and my DH is 50... I still don't officially own a grey yet. My first experience was at an assisted living facility where I picked up a grey to live there. She is the first dog that stole my heart. She still has it and will always. I go visit her every week. I have had dogs all my life as my parents owned an obedience school and so I was exposed to so many breeds. Currently I am fostering a very sweet grey girl and waiting for the day my heart (Isis) will come home with me.

    Tigger

I will never hear the "Tigger" song the same again. It was perfect for him, he is the only one. His pictures have made me smile and you could see the love in his eyes for you... Thank you for sharing.
