  1. I am so sorry, I think that is probably the best remembrance I have read in a long time. I know you will miss your best friend but you will always have the memories of you and him together.
  2. I have no advice Kate but wanted to let you know that I will be thinking of Tacoda tonight. (btw- we need pictures of that cute boy )
  3. Put a belly band on the male, if its wet when you get home you'll know who is doing it.
  4. I selected other because the greys aren't crated any more. When I was crating Carmen I used a 42" and she was in my room. Then later I moved her to the downstairs living area with the other dogs. This living area is now officially the dog room.
  5. I have not heard of it in a dog but have taken care of plenty of patients in the hospital with it. Since he has been on antibiotics for a few days his blood cultures may come up negative anyway. However, the echo may show if he has any vegetation which would be indicative of endocarditis. You may never know if this was just from the bite or if he had an underlying infection before the bite. The best thing now is to be proactive and treat was it is right now. Endocarditis is an infection and can be treated. He needs to be on antibiotics and rested.
  6. Welcome from Plano!! We would love to see your guys at the next play group.
  7. This was the same thing my vet said about Carmen when I took her. The spot actually dried up and went away after about a week of putting ointment on it. The ointment we got was actually a liquid but was and antibiotic, wish I could remember the name. It has never returned. Good luck and let us know how the ointment is working.
  8. My one year old lab, Blu received his bordatella vaccine last week and starting this hacking cough yesterday. I am so tired... we have been up since 3am. He is still eating, not with the gusto he usually has but is still eating. I have given him some vit. C and some dismutase (natural meds) to help. I will be taking him into the vet today and hopefully get some cough suppressant. Poor thing, he just looks at me with these big sad eyes... Here is a picture of Blu from a few weeks ago, he is a really silly dog. He is a year old and weighs 99.6 pounds. I had him vaccinated because he is boarded occasionally. Anyway, I pretty much know the routine... it will run its course and I will be disinfecting like crazy so none of the others catch it. I'm just whining about it...
  9. Well then by all means give Jacob kisses too. But then we can't leave out Hunter, however he will probably be asleep on the couch and won't even notice the kisses on his tummy
  10. That looks a lot like the one Carmen had. The vet gave me some liquid medicine and it went away in about a week. Give Mystery kisses for me and Carmen
  11. Your vet is correct. The clotting issue is due to the dehydration and had nothing to do with her kidney problem. Rehydrate her for a good 24 hours and then try again. The hydration will also be beneficial for her kidneys.
  12. Thanks Trudy... I wasn't sure how high I should go. I appreciate it.
  13. I just bought a Dremel 10.8V cordless. It has multiple speeds and I have a few different sand paper barrels. My question is what speed and which barrel should I be using. I just spent about 15 minutes on speed 1.5 on Isis and feel like I could have done better and faster with clippers. Anyone have suggestions? I did a search and read thru a few responses but most of them are for "minimites" and they are just hi and low speeds. I briefly looked at the dobedawn site but I will read it more thoroughly here in a bit. Thanks!
  14. Welcome from Plano Texas! Where in the panhandle are you from? I used to live in Amarillo.

  16. Hi Holly!! It was great meeting you last night. Lexi is doing well a lot of the siggies are done by another GTer on here. She does them for a donation to her group. Talk to you soon. Have fun.
  17. He is beautiful! Congrats, and I love that collar.
  18. Looks like what Carmen had last year... histiocytoma. The vet gave me some Antibiotic drops and it went away in about a week. Hers was bright red because she kept licking it and it would break open and bleed.
  19. Go to the search option and type in "red spots", there are several other threads I just grabbed one to get you started...
  20. http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showto...mp;hl=red+spots Look at some of the past threads, I hope that this helps you. (BTW - I laughed out loud when I read "weenie area" ) I know, I know, I think I have heard too many bathroom jokes from my kids lately
