  1. Oh yes, we are planning on it! We are going to NAncy's to have Freddy's 5th birthday party. Dick (formally of GG) is coming with his Daisey and to introduce us all to his new sweetie, Snowy. Lots of girls at this party!
  2. thanks, I just called. they said they would do nothing tonight anyway. So, I have an appointment Monday and she can have pre surgical testing Monday and possibly have it removed Tuesday. Oy.
  3. Elsie has an appointment tonight, if she goes she won't eat because she will be so stressed, is it ok to wait til monday when she can have a day appoointment with her regular vet, or is it necessary to rush her in today?
  4. Of course I will let you know. Lulu's story is heartbreaking, thank GOD she has you. Chloe has never had anything with sugar or any people food, so it's not that. I am very careful with chemicals in the house etc. She is due for a thyroid check and she has never been tested for TBD. I am wondering if it's time to check her out for that. No, there are many dogs who are hypothroid who do not have tremors and there are dog who have tremors who are not hypothyroid.
  5. No change in her foods. She's been on pro plan for years. I gave heartworm one week ago today. The head tremors started 4 days ago. Whatcha thinking?
  6. I wasn't overly concerned in the past as it was infrequent enough. it usually happened under highly stressful periods or change of season to spring. She has had so many in the last 4 days. I just can't figure out if there is a trigger or not. No new cleaning solvants, we keep her off lawns that are treated. Our lawn is not treated. No more stress here than usual. I think she has been just a tiny bit more subdued in the evenings than normal and possibly looks a little bit thinner. I think a vet check is in order. I know they can't do much but at least we can check her thyroid (She is hypothyroid) and is on .5 mg of soloxine a day. It's a start.
  7. Keeping you and Demon in my prayers.
  8. As some of you know, Chloe has had head tremors since we adopted her at the age of 2 years 4 months. They were very infrequent. Maybe 2 x a year. In the last 3 days, she has had 4 head tremors. We give her something to eat like a cookie and it stops immediately. Something is going on that it's happenening more frequently. When I showed the vet this video, she said, this too, we will keep an eye on. I'm scared. Chloe just turned 5.
  9. While petting this crazy girl this morning, I noticed she has a lump about the size of a piece of kibble and it's pretty raised. It's located just off of one of her nipples. When I first brought her in to the vet and had her checked out, she said that Elsie had a mammorary tumor- I hadn't seen it- and I don't know if this is the same one or not- but she said, not uncommon- we'll keep an eye on it. Now I see it. It's pretty big. Anyone have any experience with this? I will bring Elsie in to see the vet as in the next day or 2.

Oh no. I am so very sorry.
  11. I am so sorry for your loss.
  12. God Speed Joplin. I am so sorry.
  13. No, can't be. sending lots of prayers.
  14. Please update when you can. Holding you both in my thoughts and prayers!
  15. Ace or acepromazine is used as a tranquilizer but our vets feel that valium works better for the greyhounds
  16. Does the pup have any of these clinical signs? increased drinking, increased urination, vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, anorexia, weight loss and lethargy.
  17. I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy.
  18. Yes, Judi- Beau has a lot of things going on with his immune system because of the immune suppressive drugs he is on (we are tapering but it will be a while before totally off). He was tested for every TBD.
  19. This just breaks my heart all over again.
  20. I too wonder if that could contribute. With the IBD, everything is 2ndary. We know he had the bout of what the vet called (but specialist did not) polyarthritis flare up, whatever it is, go away and don'g come back!
  21. Agreed with "9" as being the diagnosis. Elsie is 10 and is as puppy like as any 2 year old. Sounds like an underlying issue and I hope you are able to find out what it is soon. In the menatime, keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers.
  22. Thank you EVERYONE. I told Beau yesterday that there were sooooo many people and their houndies thinking and praying for him. I told him to KNOCK IT OFF and HE DID!!!! His gait is little off but it's not a full blown limp. It came on suddenly as they often do. We are hoping it's just a form of arthritis. Once upon a time, I would have had some comfort in the fact he had a set of x-rays done on all limps, chest etc just 3 months ago, but unfortunately we all know how quickly that status can change.
