  1. My Elsie- adopted as a brood mom after 115 races is now 10.5 and runs circles around my 5 year olds with MUCH less races (4,9, 19) So- I don't believe that has anything to do with anything!
  2. Ollie is out of surgery and awake. Neuter done. Dental done. leg- vet said x-ray was typical of break in racers, lots of fragmented bones in ankle but since the break is obviously new (Aug. 29) to wait 6 months to see how it heals and if he is in any discomfort. If it is, then we can decide if we want to do orthos on him, but for now, leave it. He is resting comfortably. He will come home tomorrow at 11.
  3. Any extra good thoughts his way would be most appreciated. He will have his dental/neuter and because of the leg break - and it was pretty recent (Aug 29) I want to make sure all is OK with that. He has walked on 3 legs so I just need to make sure all is OK and this way we can have a baseline as well. I am going to call the track and see if I can get any info about the injury. He will have to stay overnight. I feel so bad, but I know it's in his best interest. I am taking Tuesday and Wed off so I will be home with him from Tuesday thru Sunday. My vet keeps all greyhounds overnight after a spay or neuter.
  4. thanks Greg. He is pilled. Hopefully, his tummy will settle down. His whole world was turned upside down and now, tomorrow the vet for an overnight!
  5. He of course has to be NPO but water ok. I have immodium. I can do that!
  6. the new guy has the big D but is eating well. he is pooping a lot. tomorrow is his neuter/dental. should I give him something this evening so he does not have to go out every 2 hours?
  7. OMG- how tragic. I am so sorry and I too have often thought of her. RIP friend.
  8. Wellcare Pharm. See if the company will take it back. The pills I had were 30 for $60.00. No amount of $$ would have cured her. I miss that big mouth so very much. I can smile and cry at the time thinking about her!
  9. they took mine back no questions asked.
  10. Oh Dani I am so sad to hear that Star is still screaming. That must be terrible & so frustrating for you as well. Hoping for an easy fix and major luck on that job interview. You will get it.Come one GTers! Let's do the chant!
  11. I am so sorry she is still doing that. Did you give a valium? Was there any relief?
  12. My Beau had to be under general for x-rays too. It's much easier on the nervous dog. Best of luck.
  13. We do have a winner! Congrats! I am soooo happy for you and Diamond!
  14. You do what you have to do. It's not being courgeous, it's about being proactive. It's amazing what you can make happen for your babies! It's the pups who are so incredible and resilient. I hope you never have to face this with anyone! I remember day 5 after Polli's amp. I called the vet and said what the "F" did I do. I was sure I did the worst possible thing. I didn't. She was happy and adjusted beautifully. The first 3 weeks were very difficult. If he is stressing, get valium. 10mg. I helped a lot. Many prayers.
  15. When my Beau was on high doses of pred, he would pee for literally 3-5 minutes straight and every 3 hours round the clock. it's the pred.
  16. Greyt pictures! Handsome boy you have! Welcome from NY.
