OMG, how shocking. I am so very sorry.
  3. Welcome from LI, NY. She is very sweet. Good luck and congrats. Everything you are mentioning is very normal.
  4. I am so sorry for your loss.
  5. I am so sorry he is in pain. How did this happen? Hugs and prayers for a painless night for your baby.
  6. It sounds like a strained muscle. Although, I have not seen that happen with my Polli (age 9), I would proably think that's what it is. Like Cbudshome said, when we are out of shape and excercise we quiver, so do they. Start with regualar walks, lengthen them and then add runs to build him up.
  7. My little Polli girl came to me with teeth and breath so bad, she lost 17 teeth at her dental. I hope she doesn't lose more. I brush every day but her remaining teeth are in pretty bad shape.
  8. Traumeel for 75 pound dog should be 1 pill 2-3 x a day. It should be licked, not swallowed (ideally sublingually, but that would not be too easy to do!)
  9. Glad he is doing OK. Keep up the good work and hopefully, the #'s will slow down and plateau for a while. Hugs to you both!
  10. How do YOU think he looks? I like to see the last 2-3 ribs. Not sticking out, just visable. My Teddy's racing weight was 72 and he is now 83. he is still quite thin. Beau's racing weight was 63 and he is 64 pounds and looks filled out. You can't set a definitive number of pounds for them to gain or lose. They usually need a few pounds after track but it really depends on your dog. How about some pictures?
  11. We were told 2 does of interceptor BUT it did not work. We needed to use panacur.
  12. When Polli had her extractions (17) they told me I could do it immeditately. I waited 3 days.
  13. I don't have a choice, I have to brush Polli's teeth every night, just like the kids! the others get it once a week excpet Beau. He cries when he sees the brush.
  14. Time for a diet Alan! How much does he need to drop? Glad all good news.
  15. I agree. Home where he wanted to be and near you. I am so sorry.
  16. Wishing Alan an uneventful and clean bill of health visit. Update when you can!
  17. You are both in my heart and thoughts tonight.
  18. You have LOADS of prayers coming your way. LOADS. White lights and loving thoughts. Have a safe trip.

    Missing My Queen

    Sigh. Loving thoughts your way.
  20. http://www.greyhoundgang.org/store/index.php/cat_5 Claudia has some wonderful supplements. Minimumly, they should be on glucosomine. Make sure if you buy it somewhere else you are getting enough in each dose. Many times it is included in a supplement but is not enough for daily dosage. I'm sure you will get many others chiming in on what they are using.
  21. For a Long Island vet, it's normal. Unfortunately. but it is.
  22. I would ask them how YOU can get the 20% I was referring to. That seems like a normal bill for me. No, they are NOT the most warm and fuzzy people but they know their hounds and they do right by the dogs. I got "over" the fact that it's a straight business type of atmosphere (although, I am there SO OFTEN that they are starting to get warmer with me) and not a hand holding type of office. Although, both Dr. Longo(female) and Dr. Friedman (owner) are both very very personable, warm and loving. They bend over backwards for all my dogs knowing how flipped out he can be, and really go the full distance to keep them calm even if it means seeing them in the wating room (to examine stitches visuallY) so that the stressed dog doesn;t have to be dragged in to the room. I've found that they have warmed up over the time I have been there. Maybe you need to hit the 10K mark and you can become a favorite too! (I am kidding!)
