  1. Tylosin(Tylan powder) works really good for bacterial overgrowth. You might want to ask about giving Billy B12 injections also. When Fields had a severe case of SIBO he was on Tylan for 6 weeks and B12 injections for 6 weeks, and the combination really helped him improve quickly. It did take him about 3 months to get his weight back up and a single source protein helped him also. Get well soon Billy.
  2. Wonderful to hear Maggie is home and on the road to recovery. How scary for everyone and I'm another who worries about a collision in the yard.
  3. Super Girl, Flippy had her chemo treatment yesterday and she's doing really good. She's lost a few lbs from the pred so I'm looking for ways to up her calories without adding carbs. She's only getting the pred every other day now so hopefully she'll stop losing weight and I'm going to make a modified version of satin balls without all the grains and try that as a mini meal in between regular meals. Super Girl is very active now that spring is in the air and Sunday she played a game of DoggBall, so she needs the extra calories if she's going to continue being my little tomboy. Patsie and Strider are over their tummy bug and thankfully Flippy didn't get it. Warlock is still the same...my quiet gentle boy. He says thanks for the thoughts and prayers. It's dog food preparation day for me and I'll be making Warlock fat burgers to see if it helps him gain weight. Flippy's next chemo is in 2 weeks, and I'm praying she keeps making it look easy. Love you Super Girl!!
  4. Leah, I'm so sorry. Your tribute made me laugh and cry. Romeo would not have been able to beat the osteo, so what you did was right. He's in a better place now, free of pain and free to lift his leg on whatever his little heart desires. Run with the Angels, Romeo!
  5. Hi from West TN. I'm from NV too. I lived in Fallon and Fernley for 20 years. My oldest son still lives in Fallon. Snow!!! It was 75 here yesterday.
  6. Flippy is doing greyt!!! She has her next bloodwork and chemo treatment on Mon. Then we start one week off, one week on and we'll be alternating between 2 chemo drugs. Me I'm hanging in there. Patsie and Strider came down with a tummy bug, and that hasn't been pleasant. Patsie is feeling better and Strider still has liquid poop but he's feeling a little better today. And dear sweet Warlock is so thin, but he's eating good, still active and everything is functioning normal. He's puzzle to me right now. I just don't know what's going on with him. Thank God the rest of the pack is feeling fine!! I'll update everyone Monday evening after Flippy has her treatment. She has a new vet and so far I'm really pleased. We had a consult with her on Tues and Flippy gives her a 4 paws up!
  7. I'm so sorry and shocked. Run with the Angels, Bodhi!
  8. Flippy's white blood cell count is 3200. WooHoo!! She's tolerating the chemo, eating good, and is still active!! GO Super Girl, GO!!!
  9. Claudia, Misty will give you the answer to your question. When she's had enough she'll tell you. In the meantime stay positive and keep feeding her the way you've been doing. Maybe now that the cortisol level is stable, then her weight will stablize also. We're sending prayers
  10. Talk to your vet. It might be a simple benign histiocytoma. I always have lumps and bumps checked by my vet. I feel it's better to check sooner than later.
  11. The drooling is normal and the needing to pee in the middle of the night is normal. Most of mine will wake me up, but some don't after they've had a dental. If Ruby is normally a good eater but still isn't eating after 24 hrs, then you might want to talk to your vet about your concerns. Sometimes a tasty treat will get the appetite going again. I'm so sorry you're going thru all this. It seems like when it rains, it pours...but usually a rainbow follows the storm. Hugs.
  12. I updated post 1. Super Girl Flippy is doing super good. Her activity level is good and she's making this easy for me. Love you baby girl!!!
  13. Sending lots of prayers. This reminds me of what I went through with Brooke last year...lots of prayers that it's not the same.
  14. Run with the Angels, sweet boy! Gosh, it's like an end of an era...so many of us who joined GT in 2001-2002 are losing our precious friends. I'm so sorry, but you gave him a wonderful life filled with his favorite things...trips and motorcycles. Buddy now you can finally chase those noisy bikes.
  15. Jodie, we're sending prayers that Solo just over did it while he was acting like a 2 year old. Sending a greyt big
  16. I was warned about the wbc dropping. The oncologist drew me pictures of how the wbc would start falling around day 5 and reach it's lowest peak around day 7 and come back to normal at day 10. He sent us home with 5 days of antibiotics to help her during that 5 day window when she'll be low. She starts taking the antibiotics tomorrow and she'll have a blood test this weekend to check her wbc. If it's too low then the CCNU dose can be lowered. My vet said he didn't want to see it below 8000, but the oncologist said if it gets to 1000 then the dose should be adjusted, and/or we give her antibiotics after each treatment. She's in greyt shape physically, so hopefully she'll do good with this 1st round. The next couple weeks will tell us if she can continue the CCNU or if we'll need to switch to vinblastine. I'm praying she can stay on the CCNU because I can give it at home and she won't have to make trips for an IV. She'll only need a trip for bloodwork before each treatment to check her liver values.
  17. Hey big goof, Tiger!!! I can take you, even on a bad day. Thrillseeker fits this girl!! She is such a tomboy in the yard, and a princess in the house.
  18. I'm going to start a new thread for Flippers. I'll keep it updated so everyone will know how Flippy is doing on her journey to being cancer free. Flippy's journey may also be useful for others with MCT.(mast cell tumor) Flippy had her first oral round of chemo on Sat. Mar. 7th. She took 60 mgs of Lomustine, also called CCNU. She started her first 7 day dose of 30 mg of prednisone. 25 mg of benedryl twice a day Prilosec once a day Denosyl for liver support Marin for liver support. 1 scoop of Longevity twice a day 1 A Day multi-vitamin I also started Flippy on a raw food diet that is grain free. The benedryl is making her a little sleepy...but baby girl needs her beauty sleep. It's been 24 hours since she received her first chemo and so far she's doing wonderful. I'm trying to keep everything normal and positive for Flippy and the pack. Our motto is "What Flippy wants, Flippy gets." Including my banana this morning...piggy girl! I'll continue updating this first entry daily or as needed. Keep Flippy in your thoughts and prayers. Mar. 09th and Flippy girl is outside running, and playing with the boys, and enjoying our spring weather. It's been 48 hours since chemo and she's acting like it never happened. Her appetite is good, she loves her raw diet and she takes all her pills without complaint...wrapped in cheese and she begs for more. Flippy sends to all her friends, family and fans. Mar. 11 and Super Girl is doing super good!! She started her 5 day round of antibiotics today to help protect her during this time when her white blood cell count will drop. Flippy's white blood cells should start dropping today and reach the lowest peak on Fri/Sat and then start climbing back up. She will be getting bloodwork done this weekend to make sure her white blood cells don't drop drastically low. I've already made arrangements to have the vet come out to Flippy's Chariot to have the blood drawn, so she doesn't have to go inside to be exposed to germies. Her immune system will be at it's lowest and I don't want to risk having her exposed to anything. Super Girl is eating good and all other functions are normal. She's making this look easy! XXXXOOO
  19. Congratulations Heather and Ken. Did you see Jessie Jay? I'm going to pick him up soon. And congratulations to the new additions...do they know they hit the "forever home jackpot"?
  20. Patti, I'm so glad you're home and that Pave' got such a good report. I'm hoping I can love on Pave' while Flippy is getting her tests done on Thurs. Unfortunately I'm not going to meet Dr. C since he's leaving again, but he assured me Flippy will have the best care. Try to get some rest. I know your daughter is having her biopsy tommorrow. I'll be saying prayers for her.
  21. Flippy has an appt. at OSU on Thurs morning. We'll be driving up on Wed. so I can have her there by 9am Thurs.
  22. Thank you!! Best news I've heard today. Flippy will be there on Thurs. to have her mast cell checked. Believe me, I'll be checking on Pave while I'm there.
