  1. Thinking of you and my "ugly boy". Just think how beautiful he'll look with clean toofers.
  2. I heard from Dr. C by email this morning. I sent him a copy of the biopsy report and I'm waiting to hear back from him. I'll let you know what he suggests. Yes, he's been gone, and he's leaving again to lecture. I knew that...I was frustrated that none of the other vets returned my phone call. It's hard waiting when you want something done yesterday.
  3. Flippy is doing greyt. Me, I'm getting frustrated... I've sent emails and left phone messages at OSU, but I haven't received any replies.
  4. FlippyDoodles sends kisses to Pave. Us mast cell ladies must stick together and get well.
  5. I'm so sorry. Please consider other pain meds to keep Caesar comfortable.
  6. Flippy's pathology report came in, and she has Stage II/Grade II Mast Cell. The prognosis is 4-5 years with no further treatment, if the tumor had been completely removed. It wasn't because of the location in her neck, so that shortens the time considerably. My vet gave me a couple options, that include taking her to OSU for a more aggressive surgery to remove the rest of the tumor, or leave her be and do chemo, or do nothing. I'll be exploring options with OSU, so I can make an informed decision. Keep the healing thoughts coming. Baby girl has a long road ahead of her, but she won't be going down it alone. Thanks everyone. edited because I'm not thinking
  7. Flippy is being Flippy...you would never know she had surgery. She's doing really good!! We should have the path report back tomorrow afternoon.
  8. Sending lots of get well thoughts and prayers. Come on Mouse, you need to get better.
  9. Flippy had a restful night. She ate a good breakfast and took all her meds like a good girl. We're having a lazy day and doing nothing today. I've been reading a novel, and Flippy has been snuggled up next to me all day. Every once in a while she sticks a wet nose on the book and reminds me that I need to put the book down and love on her. Flippy says "Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts!!!"
  10. I can't believe it's been a year. We sure miss those BuyCut pictures. What a boy!!! Hope you found all the nice warm sheets and quilts, sweetheart.
  11. Kim, what are we going to do with that girl? Stop acting like a baby landshark, Rainey!!! Hugs, prayers and good thoughts coming your way.
  12. We're home!!! What a long day! I had to stop twice on the way home to hold Flippy and wrap her in a blanket because she started shivering really bad. I thought I might need to turn around and go back to the vet, but she stopped shaking after I held her and got her tucked into a nice big blanket. She's doing much better now and is happy to be home, and just peed a lake in my office. Flippy was suppose to have her surgery this morning, but there was an emergency so the vet didn't get to her until this afternoon. He wasn't able to remove all the tumor and he thinks it's soft tissue sarcoma and/or nerve sheath tumor, but he's been wrong before when it comes to tumors...he's an excellent surgeon...but not so good with diagnosing tumors. The biopsy results will be back Fri. and we'll know more then. I'm praying it's benign! Ok, gotta go love on some houndies and give Warlock some dinner. He went with us for his annual visit and I've been concerned about him because he's losing weight. All his blood work came back perfect and the vet gave me some high nutrition supplements to see if they'll help, and we'll weigh him in a month. Warlock is almost 10 and the old man of the pack. Flippy got a lot of comfort from him at the vet's office, when she was feeling a little scared. She would tuck her head under him for security and he just stood there calmly for her. He's a gentle old soul and all the dogs are calmed by his presence. Keep the prayers coming and thank you everyone.
  13. Sending prayers for Canyon. Also, he's gorgeous...very handsome guy.
  14. Awww, poor Loca. Hope she's feeling better soon. A previous vet I had said that some females that squat really low to the ground or practically sit, are often candidates for reoccuring UTIs, because they can pick up bacteria from the grass and ground. Made sense to me, because one of my girls practically sat on the ground when she peed.
  15. Flippy is having surgery on Mon. to remove a lump in her neck. The mass is located near major veins and arteries, and I'm scared for my baby girl. We suspect a thyroid tumor because of the location, but I'll know more tomorrow, and hopefully the biopsy results will be back at the end of the week. Flippy would appreciate all the good thoughts and prayers her GT friends can send. Thank You!!
  16. Per my vet, you can safely give 1mg benedryl per 1 lb of weight, every 8 hours. Warlock has allergies and weighs 77lbs. I give him 3 of the 25mg tablets every 12 hours, and that helps him.
  17. OH DeVon, I'm sorry. Prayers for comfort during this trying time.
  18. Hilda, I am so sorry. I hate osteo...I really do. Run with the Angels on healthy legs, sweetheart.
  19. Oh Mary, I'm so very sorry. Run with the Angels.
  20. I'm really having a hard time with this migrating theory and how it can be reconstructed by a human on a walk. Are you letting the dog set up it's territory on the city streets...ie fighting with the dog next door to defend or establish it's territory, or are you letting your dog drag you down the street to catch the bunny for dinner, and then taking it back to the next door neighbors porch because your dog as already let the neighbor dog know it's now his territory and he's going to eat his meals there from now on. I know that sounds ridiculous but is that what the OP is implying? If a human is in control of a dog on a leash how is that in any way, shape or form the same as wild dogs migrating from one region to another to look for food, shelter, and territory? I'm not getting this whole thread at all and I keep checking to see if it will eventually make sense.
  21. I guess I need to go tell my dogs they lead a boring, neglected life because they live on 2 acres, and don't get walks. The racing around the property, the frisbee throwing, the dogball games, the swimming pools, and all the deer, bunnies and squirrels to chase just aren't enough stimulation. I think my dogs would disagree and feel sorry for all the leash walked dogs. Most of mine get a leash put on them once a year to go to the vet, and every day is like going to the dog park only better...no little fluffy dogs to worry about.
  22. Judy, I am so sorry. Please don't ever feel quilty, Jack knew he was loved. My heart is breaking for you, and I'm sending hugs. Run with the Angels, Jack.
