greytluck Posted November 6, 2008 Share Posted November 6, 2008 Because Hobbes let me know in no uncertain terms tonight that it's not his time to go!!!! He is a lot brighter today, and even stood up when we went in to see him. I brought him some home made chicken soup and he actually ate a half cup. It's more food then he has had in total for the last 5 days. We spent most of the afternoon cuddling with him (gloved and gowned of course) and in that time he did a small roo, and even roached for belly pets. He sure is a fighter. He is not completely out of the woods yet though. The blood work came back while we were there. It doesn't show any real improvement in the kidney or liver function. Some levels unfortunately have increased since yesterday. His jaundice is really bad making him looks like a Simpson character. The yellow is even noticeable through his fur. And I just can't believe how much weight he has lost. He looks like a bag of bones, with almost no muscle left. He is going to need extra spoiling when I finally get him home. I can't thank everyone enough who sent kind words and advice to us during this time. It truly helped more than anyone could imagine.
