PatricksMom
What have people done with hardwood stairs that are becoming a slipping hazard? Leo won't slow down, he scrambles up at the speed of light, and he's had a couple of injuries as a result of falling. Any suggestions, ideally ones that won't wreck resale value? ramonaghan
We used nonskid washable stair treads, bought online, in our first house with Sweep. In our current house, with two sets of hardwood stairs, we bit the bullet and installed runners. One we had to have done professionally because there's a turn in the stairs, but for our straight basement stairs we were able to DIY it following online tutorials, using two inexpensive 7' runner rugs. I think as long as you choose something relatively neutral it won't hurt resale value. (Though cats using one as a scratching post will. ) Pro job: DIY job: Quote Rachel with littermates Doolin and Willa, boss cat Tootie, and feline squatters Crumpet and Fezziwig. Missing gentlemen kitties Mud, Henry, and Richard and our beautiful, feisty, silly Sweep.

We used double sided carpet tape on the leading edge to hold ours in place. Quote Nancy...Mom to Sid (Peteles Tiger), Kibo (112 Carlota Galgos) and Joshi.
