FRISBYSMUM
It's been a whole year since I lost my precious boy Frisby. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him and think of him. I had a cry this morning, but I mostly now have a smile on my face when I think of him. We had a wonderful eight and a half years, but it's never enough is it? I never knew that it was possible to be so devastated over losing a dog. I have Jimmy in my life now and although he will never ever replace Frisby, he has helped the healing process. Miss you so much my wonderful boy. Edited April 23, 2014 by FRISBYSMUM Quote Images removed. greytpups
I found the "firsts" very difficult, first Christmas, first birthday, first gotcha day, that took place after I lost my greyhound. In fact I cried for the first 3 anniversary dates after we put Bailey to sleep. I'm glad you have memories and Jimmy to bring you comfort today. My blog about grief The reality is that you will grieve forever. You will not get over the loss of a loved one; you will learn to live with it. You will rebuild yourself around the loss you have suffered. You will be whole again but you will never be the same. Nor should you be the same, nor would you want to. ― Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

scullysmum
It is good to hear that your memories of your lovely Frisby are making you smile, I am sure he would love that. We never do have them for long enough, but when you think of all the sweet memories I know it is an experience which makes the pain worthwhile.
