Riverhound
Lots of water (or low sodium broth) and maybe some cranberry capsules if you have them. I wouldn't give anything else till she's seen by the vet. Someone who knows what they are talking about will give you a better answer soon! Houndtime
Don't really give her anything that can cloud the results of a urine culture. Try a little cranberry juice and make sure she is drinking lots of water. Good luck. cleptogrey
DON'T DO ANYTHING WHAT SO EVER! YOUR VET NEEDS TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT SHE IS PRODUCING. Edited March 31, 2012 by cleptogrey
macoduck
Ditto what cleptogrey said! Catch a sample and refrigerate - now would be good, first pee in the morning would be better. Is it lightly bloody/pink or a deep red? Guest bevcit
I caught a sample and refrigerated it, but I will try to catch a sample in the morning. There are deep red blotches and pinky diluted urine. She didn't eat her dinner but she is drinking lots of water. I will see the Vet tomorrow a.m. She has been on an antibiotic for 4 weeks which could have produced a urinary track problem. Thanks for your help. I am following your suggestions. kudzu
Give her unlimited amounts of water but otherwise do nothing. Try not to worry too much. It takes very little blood to color urine pink. Specks of blood are not uncommon with a UTI or some other urinary issues. Hope it is an easily remedied problem.
GeorgeofNE
If she's been on an antibiotic she probably does not have a urinary tract infection--but she could have stones in her bladder.
