racindog
What Batmom said. Also I have learned that many times with a greyhound you just don't know what you've got for at least a YEAR. The "transformation" some of these guys undergo can be as different as night and day. It took my first grey Ivy a year before she "got happy" so to speak and played and barked and acted like a real dog lol. Before that she would stare at the back of he chair, try not to be noticed, and never made a sound. My beloved Minny I can remember when I first started fostering him thinking "They've got to find this dog a home fast, I don't know how much longer I can put up with it." He was even bounced from his first foster home to me. About a year later after an amazing story he returned to me to foster again and all of a sudden he was gold-the most noble empatheic and loving hound ever! Of course I adopted him and I later shuddered to think how I almost lost him when he was adopted out earlier before being returned. His soul is among the lions for sure. So don't worry. It takes time to build those special relationships and sometimes you just can't see their real beauty-their real self at first- because it just takes a year or so before it shines out-but its there and one day you'll see it burst out. And it can be quite different than what you are seeing now.
