Guest greycrew
I want to thank everyone here for their support during the difficult days at the end of Juneau's life. I first laid eyes on him at my local rescue when I was there to pick up a foster dog 6 short years ago. As soon as I saw him I said "I'm taking him home!" My friends said that I better not, I would fail fostering. And I took him home and happily failed fostering that time! Shortly after I got him home I realized he was terrified of everything and everyone except us. Loud noises, the mailman, any visitor would send him flying up the stairs to the safety of my bed. But, in the comfort of his home he happily cockroached the hours away. He went for walks almost every day. Went to Greyhounds in Gettysburg and Greyhounds Reach the Beach where he could run in the sand. It made him so happy. As did running in the snow. He loved his stuffy toys. He had multiple names and answered to all of them. Juneau, JuneBug, Chippy June, Helicopter, Helly, Officer June (when he carried his stuffy flashlight), Carpenter June (when he carried his stuffy wrench). Oh, the list is endless. He was always a little angel. He was my best behaved dog and I told him so often. He loved to spin around wildly on the bed or in the middle of the living room while all the other dogs barked and barked at him. Then he would bolt outside to go potty. He was so funny! He loved to cockroach so I could rub his pink belly. He always had a stuffy in his mouth or at least close by on his bed. Sometimes the stuffy would go on an entire walk with us! He loved to eat more than anything else. I could go on for hours. I'm so happy he got to retire with me. I miss him terribly and I won't be the same without him. I keep filling 5 dog bowls and getting 5 treats out and when I cry all the other dogs kiss my tears away. He was a special, special boy and I am so blessed to have had him in my life. Run pain free my precious JuneBug. Jimbo Juneau, loved and missed by Sharon, Mark, Iggy Deion, Greyhounds Tone, McKenna and Rapunzel

He loved to spin around wildly on the bed or in the middle of the living room while all the other dogs barked and barked at him. Then he would bolt outside to go potty. He was so funny! My heart is so broken for you. I think this is one of the only times I've ever had tears on my face as I read Greytalk. What a memorial to your June Bug! But, I'm also laughing out loud, too, because of your funny nicknames for him: "Officer June" and "Carpenter June" just cracked me up!!! And our Timber used to do the same thing with the spinning wildly, then bolting off when she decided enough was enough of that. We're preparing to say goodbye to our girl someday soon, and you brought back some fun memories of her for me, and brought out some emotions that I obviously needed to release. Thank you for sharing your love of Juneau with us. I know he is dearly missed. Godspeed!
