Greetings and happy new year everyone! My dogs are Otis and Satchel and they are my third and fourth rescued greyhounds. Otis is 12, and I got him when he was 3, and Satchel is 6 1/2, and I got him at 18 months. I've previously had two other greyhounds, Bongo and Clyde. I'm from San Francisco, and am currently spending the holidays in Lake Tahoe where the dogs are enjoying a snowy New Year. The dogs do love the snow, and better yet, we've had a steady stream of friends up with their dogs. My brother is here with his French Bulldog, and we've had friends with a hyper Lab, and others with two pit mixes from the Oakland shelter, one 8 months old and the other strong as an ox an almost as big. You've never seen happier pooches! I'm glad to have found this place to share my experiences and learn from all of you! My dogs are city dogs, and hang out with city dogs, so I have very little direct contact with other greyhound owners except for the occasional dog-park encounter. Anyway, greetings everyone, and Happy New Year!

EDIT! Whoops, I just realized I'm required to add a picture. I'm sorry I don't have one from this trip, but here's one from a couple years ago when there was a lot more snow! Oh, and I know they're off-leash, but the cars up here are VERY few and far between and everyone has dogs running around up here and people drive real slow. Otis is the fawn, and Satchel is the black one.

Wow, thanks everyone! I don't have my camera here but I took a bad cellphone pic. Here are Otis, Satchel, and my brother's french bulldog Bud hogging one bed. :)
