Guest EmbersDad Posted December 27, 2008 Share Posted December 27, 2008 (edited) cant believe its been 25 years. hope you found pop ok and can remember him miss you my mom had been a heavy smoker all her life. in june of 83, she had a bypass operation that used veins from her legs. sadly, the veins used had an unknown defect of a weak wall. 2 days after Christmas, I left the house after dinner to go visit friends. by the time i got there, they told me i should go back home. when i got there, the paramedics were on site, but it was already too late. she had a massive anuerism and was gone before they left the house. I remember at my Mom's service, my paternal grandmother hugged me and said: "Oh honey. It gets better. But it doesn't". I instictively knew exactly what she was trying to say. to you Tom. I miss her as much today as I did then but I have an entire lifetime worth of memories that help get me through the sad times. I do know she'd kill me if she knew there were 6 greyhounds residing in her small pristine ranch house : ) But I also know she would love them just as much as I do. He, the receiver, went another 10 years before he finally passed.
