Prayers Please

Guest ss556

Alan had a rough night, I posted earlier. He drank so much water andnever got up untill DH helped this morning. He is panting and obviously something is wrong. We will be going to the vet asap.

Please send prayers for my boy, I'm really scared, I hope its for nothing.

THE VET CHECKED FOR PANCREATITIS - JUST CALLED - IT'S NOT THAT. HE SAID TO WATCH HIM - IT MAY HAVE BEEN A REALLY BAD UPSET STOMACH - IS PRESCRIBING CARAFATE - and HOPEFULLY NOTHING ELSE IS BREWING WITH HIM. ALAN IS RESTING MORE COMFORTABLY NOW - HOPE I CAN TOO. THANKS FOR THE PRAYERS.

I'm certainly glad it was not pancreatitis - but it was something. He was never this "bad" before and of course I thought it could be his kidneys failing - just hope it was a fluke thing and that it won't happen again. If my DH was overly concerned, there was a reason!

So glad to hear Alan is alright! Phew.... I was really worried there for a while. Did the vet manage to get any idea of what it could have been?

No real idea - guessing it's his intestines/stomach - prescribed carafate. He threw up on Tues. morning which was also unusual for him. So, I just have to watch him and I am home doing that today!

I hope Alan is feeling much better soon and am glad to see he's back home. :getwell:dogcookie

Susan just to mention on the carafate,- I've noticed that it seems as tho' some vets may not be telling people this,

Carafate should be prepared as a 'slurry' - which means to drop the carafate in just a tiny bit of water, like a teaspoon or less, and give it in a syringe. So I wanted to mention that in case you might be giving it in it's pill form.
