4My2Greys Posted November 13, 2008 Share Posted November 13, 2008 Nadir has had an ongoing problem that recently has quickly escalated to the point that he has become incontinent and is in a lot of pain right now when he tries to get up to walk after lying down. I went through the same thing with him last year about this time, but then the incontinence and pain was nothing like it is now. Now my poor boy will wet himself even when he is lying on his bed. It is the pain he is in though that is my biggest concern. The problem has been going on for about 2 years now during which time I've taken him to several vets who have done both x-rays and flourographs in the attemp to find what is wrong with him. The x-rays showed nothing, the flourograph image though showed signs of spondylosis. The vet, however, who took these images did not save a copy for Nadir's record. He also put him on an NSAID which ended up causing him intestinal bleeding. Last year around this time when he was having problems I took him to a holistic veterinarian who did accupuncture and treated him with Chinese herbs. I took him for four months to begin with for twice weekly treatments then later for weekly treatments. The improvement was remarkable, however at the time I took him the problem hadn't advanced to the point that it was causing the incontinence problem like he has now. I've got an appointment set up Monday for him at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Small Animal Clinic for an MRI and consulation. Anyway, Nadir could really use some good thoughts right now. So if you have any, even spare ones please send them his way. He's only 7 yrs old, I can't bear the thought of losing him.
