Guest argolola
Lola's surgery was 15 days ago, and she has had a very depressing time with the e-collar. We saw the vet on day 10 and she said come back in a week. This morning I witnessed Lola almost fall on her neck jumping off the bed with the e collar hanging up on the side of the bed. I closed the bedroom doors, but she could still get on the couch, so I called to get the stitches out 1 1/2 days early. The vet would not even consider seeing her. I told the vet I could not leave her alone tomorrow. I told them we would have to find someone else. We stopped at a vet closer to home. The first thing we saw was a greyhound adoption sign! The new vet was great. She took the stitches out and said the healing was complete! Thanks everyone for your prayers and support. Guest sheila
you do understand why the other vet refused to take them out early don't you? If he did that and complications arose because of it he would put himself at risk. I'm really surprised that a new vet would so readily agree to do this. I am not saying that removing the stitches is bad, the first vet was erring on the side of caution.....but still I understand the reasoning. Batmom
I can understand the first vet being cautious, but not even seeing her? That's kind of ... well, uncustomerservicelike.
