Welcome to GT... You've got beautiful boys (checked their photos on Greyhound Data) and they sound like wonderful fur kids. Have been through OS with too many of my precious greys. It's such a heartbreaker. Hope you'll share your wisdom with the group.

I went through something similar with Phoenix, my senior girlie (almost 16 now) back in November. The vet suggested steriods, in case it was an inflammation of the spine. The steriods actually worked great, and was able to taper them off in Dec. and she's been fine since then. Appetite with these old guys can be challenging at best, trying to figure out what's appetizing at the moment. She's been on a pot roast with gravy kick for about a month, which is WONDERFUL. Sending lots of prayers to Fred and your folks for much more quality time with their beloved hound.

OMG. I'm sorry your pup got bit and is at the e-vets. Does the school have a policy about these kinds of issues? Since the other dog attacked your dog and was unprovoked, I think you're well within the right to ask her to pay the vet bill. I certainly would not return to that group (nor do I take my hounds to dog parks for the same reason). Prayers that your boy heals quickly on all levels.

One in the morning, one in the evening, 30 minutes before a meal, especially if you're giving an NSAID medication too. What did the vet think was going on with your boy?
