  1. Paul and Sonja, I'm so sorry to hear about Bill.
  2. Ryan used it with all his other stuff when he first got sick. Worked well for him, well, kind of. Worked better adding it than not adding it. How it works isn't well understood, but the common thought is it just blocks the brain from receiving "pain" messages. Seems to work best in dogs when combined with other pain meds.
  3. We don't have a dog treats page, but if you mean the pinned thread of GT business owners, the details on how to do that are in that post. You can't start your own thread in this forum until you have 50 posts or are a community supporter.
  4. What things can you do to help break a dog of being person possessive? Abby came in and has decided she likes me and I'm very much worth protecting (I like that mentality, but not when she does it in regards to the dogs that already live here!). She's working on her last strike and I need to work with her to correct that problem or determine sooner than later that she's not going to work. Dogs aren't allowed on furniture here. They have their own beds and they have plenty of carpet on the floor or even the tile if they so desire. If I'm sitting in a chair, Abby will come over and sit down to ask for attention and then put her head in my lap. T will come over and do the same (though he doesn't have to sit since he doesn't demand attention like she does). So I have 2 dogs sitting or standing in front of me with their heads on my lap while I'm sitting. Abby thinks I'm hers and if she feels like it, she'll growl at Tavarish. She went after him a few nights ago when she had a toy in her mouth. We thought she was playing, but she was warning him - so when he went to grab the toy like they always do, she snapped and went for him - she had her toy standing next to me with her head over my lap and T reached in over my lap to get the toy. Last night she growled at him when she had her head on my lap and T came over and plopped his head on my lap. She let him stay for a minute or so and then growled at him and told him to GO AWAY, I was hers. She doesn't do it all the time, but I have no clue yet what makes her decide she's willing to share me or not. Trying to eat Jet and Tavarish is NOT acceptable. How do we person depossessive her? She can't stay if she's going to try to eat Jet or Tavarish when they want my attention too. I'm usually the one that feeds them, so this morning I had Jeff do it and will probably have him do meals for a while and only have me feed them if he's not home in time to feed them. What else?

    Blue

Blue is gone I found Blue dead next to the water dish when I got home from school today. Both Jeff and I had been wondering the last couple of days if she would get better as it seemed more than a broken wing - she just wasn't right the last few days. Though she did eat like a pig last night and I gave her a dish of peas before bed Good bye my sweet little Blue ducklet May you have eggs to sit on that will do something May your wings work like they used to Maybe you'll learn how to fly better (or at least land better)
  6. The swelling on ones side of her face is better today, but all of her face is a bit swollen now. Still kind of keeping to herself, but a bit more active today.
  7. Always did. Just need them to answer their voice mail and return those "emergency" messages in less than 35 minutes.
  8. Pros and Cons of living in a rural area... 24 hour vet care doesn't mean what you think it does. It means maybe the vet has an answering machine/voice mail that says "If this is an emergency, please leave a message and we'll get back to you." or "if this is an emergency, please call 555-5555." and nobody answers or takes them 30 mins to respond. It took us 30 minutes to get an actual vet on the phone and even longer to find one that was willing to see us. Luckily, she lived 2 doors down and I'd already sent Jeff to go talk to her. We brought Jet over for a quick look to be sure a hole in the head that shows skull could be left until morning. So we wrapped her up last night and kept an eye on her last night and off to the vet we went this morning. Left her to be sedated and put back together again. What happened? Not positive, but pretty sure it was a fight over a bone and Abby did the damage to Jet and left Jet screaming and with a few punctures in her face and a hole in her head so you could see poor Jet's skull. Jet is now home, 8 stitches in her head, resting in our bedroom. For a reasonable cost.
  9. Really quickly, like less than 5 minutes of posting quickly
  10. You may find the info online on your own. It does not need to be posted. Especially the last few I've removed today that have some crazy numbers included. Next post I see about it will be removed and member suspended. And this is the ONLY warning I will be posting. If you didn't see it sitting here in the announcements forum, well, maybe start seeing if there are new posts in the announcements forum when coming into GT.
  11. Who makes it? A quick google found nothing, but I didn't do anything other than a quick search.
  12. Looking at my options for a generic heartgard. Many have stuff for other worms and some have no extra stuff for extra worms. Obviously the ones without are cheaper. I like cheaper. We aren't out and about around other dogs and in parks and playgroups and stuff like that whey they are exposed to what comes out the ends of other dogs... just each other. And the ducks. And the squirrels. And the rabbits. And the birds. And the whatever else is in the back yard. Do we need to worry about the other wormy worms?
  13. The generic has IVERMECTIN, so it should still do what it is supposed to do, right? It seems to be about half the cost of the Merial Heartgard, depending on where you get the heartgard. Need to get more, last batch came from the vet with a rebate.

  15. Jet eats the ones she finds in the yard and checks the duck house daily to see if I left any in there for her. I wouldn't worry about a fresh egg or two every day.
  16. Fixed - any font stuff and color stuff you had going I removed. You'll have to redo the text if it isn't the way you wanted it.
  17. As Jey said, skip the kibble and just feed a single item at a time until you gradually increase what he's eating. Then you can try a kibble. It's a LONG process and can suck, but in the end, you might be able to figure it out that way.
  18. I'd not adopt a dog, with dogs already in my home, from anyplace that wouldn't let me introduce my existing animals to the new one first if that's what I desired. Yes, animals can be trained, but they are also smart and can help pick a good match. When T came as a foster, we introduced everybody outside and if any of us felt it might not be a good match, he was going back with the people he came with. I realize many people adopt greyhounds, with some already at home, without being able to meet them first. But if the potential new dog is local, there's no reason to not be able to meet. Even at a shelter. Bring new dog outside to meet existing dogs, one at a time - exposes your dog to less crap if they don't have to go INTO the shelter.
  19. First you resize it because that won't upload for a signature. Get it down so the image size is 500 pixels wide by 150 pixels high or less. And make sure the file size is less than 15k. Then follow the instructions in the Supporters forum for uploading it into your member gallery.
  20. I get the muzzle part... Ryan would just push his muzzle into the poop to see if there was some way he could still get the poop. EVERY TIME. So if I wasn't at the door to remove the poopy muzzle, he'd have just gotten the poop from the muzzle around the house. I'll pass on that, thanks. Pick up as often as you can. Close the door when you are not home if needed, and deal with that she eats poop when she finds it.
  21. Your filesize needs to be less than 15k

  23. T needs them - his pancreas doesn't make them. Without them, he doesn't digest his food so well and gets sick.
  24. That's not a result of the forum update - that is just ongoing issues we've had with server load.
