  1. I cut the excess fat off of the chicken backs before I give them.
  2. Looks like elk usa doesn't have any of the split antlers. I can tell you that ordering them there is much cheaper! One of the large split antlers (5 inches or so) can be around $11.00 dollars. You may check at your local specialty pet store. You also may want to search antlers here on GT. I know the subject has been talked about before.
  3. Antlers. www.elkusa.com Make sure you get them big enough. I get the split ones.
  4. Oxy Clean and Simple Solutions is wonderful!
  5. I've had many fosters that did not have dew claws. Wish mine didn't, I hate trimming them.
  6. Walmart has a safe weedkiller for children and pets. It has natural ingredients and really works! Smells good too! Don't know the name of if because I just used the last of it and threw it away. Need to get more.
  7. Can you contact a lawncare service in your area that treats lawns and ask if the use only animal/child friendly treatments? My lawn company only treats my lawn with herbal sprays.
  8. I have used Green Ums for eight years. My yard is beautiful. My male can even pee on the flowers and it doesn't hurt them. Not that I like him to do that, but wanted to give you an idea. With the Green Ums you have to give them consistently for them to work.
  9. Natural Balance has a few grain free foods. I feed Fish and Sweet Potato. They have vension, bison and duck that are also grain free. When looking at a grain free diet also stay away from wheat flour, rice flour, barley flour. Look for potato flour. Mother Hubbard also makes a grain free treat and so does NB. My two have never had beef, lamb, chicken or grains of any kind because of allergies.
  10. My dogs cannot have chicken, beef, lamb or any grains. So I give them turkey and instant mashed potatoes made with water. They are also lactose intolerant. Turkey is a different protein than chicken do it's okay.
  11. I just help transport a pup named Earless - can't remember his racing name - and he was truly earless. He was missing his complete ear!
  12. Just a thought - make sure his bedding is urine free. Wash in bleach or an enzymatic cleaner or bleach or change it out. Also, try jammies. Jammies have worked for many of my foster dogs and my current girl.
  13. When my son and his Father butcher their deer I get the bones and the scrap meat. My dogs love it! I do freeze the meat and bones because there is so much! I do not feed all venison at a meal, but add some in with the kibble. The bones have meat on them so that would be a dinner by itself.
  14. Our foster dogs used to eat Exceed Lamb and Rice. The Chicken and Rice, didn't agree with most of them. I fed the Lamb and Rice for years and they have made it better since. The only reason I switched was because of allergies in one dog. I would go back to it, but with multiple dogs, it's easier to feed one food.
  15. Consider giving a Pepcid or Prilosec (sp). Teyha is on high doses of Tramadol and some Rimadyl and get the stomach med every day.
  16. Natural Balance makes grain free food. I feed Fish and Sweet Potato.
  17. Both of mine had it. Tehya bounced back very quickly without a bland diet or a vet visit. Cian did not. I fasted him, but him on a bland diet of chicken and rice and took him to the vet. I didn't think the meds were helping and he was still getting the bland diet. Then, I went duh!! The boy has not had any grains at all since I adopted him 1 1/2 yrs ago and no chicken other than raw. I put him back on kibble and he got better right away! If I ever have to do the bland diet he will get potatoes instead of rice.
  18. The important thing is to let air get to it. I uses Curad liquid bandage. Plumbers insulation works, the curlers(old fashion ones) with the inside out and the cushion part used - let the end open. The travel toothbrush holders work too, they have an air hole at the bottom. I still found blood a year later! HA! But tail saved!
  19. My pups don't do anything different, but my cat goes friggin' nuts! Run, bounce off furniture and beds, run up and down the stairs and hallways! Me - I can never sleep during a full moon.
  20. Yes that's common, along with drinking more water, seeming to be starving to death and peeing more!
  21. The reason I said "exclusively at PetSmart" is because that's what's on the bottles. Good to know it's available elsewhere. I going to try it next week. My black boy needs a bath!
  22. I use the Bed Head products myself. I was in PetSmart and saw they have "Pet Head" made by Bed Head for dogs and cats. Has anyone tried them? I'm very careful about what I use on my greys. They have shampoo, conditioner, waterless shampoo and some other stuff.
  23. Yes, I second the Pepcid when on Tramadol. Kiaba is on 75 mgs three times a day. He weighs 78lbs. He was diagnosed with Osteo a little over a week ago. He is very alert on this dosage and it seems to be helping with his pain for now.
  24. Fresh Factors and Joint Health here too! Amazing stuff!!!
