  1. Little Wabi, who passed Sept. 1 last year, visited me in a dream the morning of my birthday (the 16th). It was a dream-within-a-dream, in which I was aware that, while it was a dream, it was as real as she could make it. She came up to me and sat in her funny way, and looked at me until I allowed myself to believe it was her. I started petting her, talking to her, and she came forward, and collapsed into me in her own uniquely uncoordinated way for a nice cuddle, until I woke up. our first meeting On a sadder note, we were taking a load of trash to the dump this morning, and finally decided to take the blanket and comforter that had been in the car for her trip to and then with her body back from the e-vet. Weird alert: knowing they had the last remnants of her, bodily fluids I'm talking about here, brought back all the feelings of discarding her body that come with burying (or, I assume, sending off to be cremated), and I had the urge to cling to them. I did let them go, of course, but I'm still sitting here crying. Ah well. It's a beautiful day. Wabi would not spend it crying over a blanket. She is still my teacher.
  2. Rah rah Silver! Final checking with brandimom to make sure they'll fit her Mariah, then off they go.
  3. Wabi's Therapaws are ready to move on. If you have a very small greyhound, and need therapaws, let me know, and I'll send them to you. These are SMALL. To find out if they'll fit, stand your dog on a piece of paper, and make a mark where the foot touches in the back, and the nails reach in the front, then measure the distance. If it's 2 inches or less, these boots will fit. Three of the four have some Shoe-Goo repair, at the back edge of the sole, because of the way Wabi's weird little foot worked (or didn't ), but while it's not exactly cosmetic, it won't affect the use of the boots for a more normal dog.
  4. You and Aquitaine are in my thoughts. It's so hard to see them in pain, as we all know! Fasting might not be a bad thing for a few days, right? It's often recommended to let the body heal from various insults and illnesses. Meanwhile, keeping all digits crossed!!
  5. Oh, I'm so sorry! Marx has always been one of my GT crushes. My heart goes out to you. :bighug
  6. Oh Kim, I'm so sorry. You tried so hard, and it hurts so much! He's out of all his pain now, and knew your love and care for him for the whole journey. :bighug
  7. Awww! That smiling face, that joy for life, that playful spirit ... Be still my heart!!
  8. Ah, Hannah!! My deepest sympathies for your loss. No matter how often we go through it, it never gets easier. I love the picture of her delicate sweet face when her eyes had gone white! :bighug
  9. Ah!! Thanks for the update! SO glad Tristan is feeling better, and hope he just keep going straight on to absolutely fine!
  10. Happy birthday to Mike, and I know that wish means that, first of all, Bullit is doing better, so it's a win-win!
  11. Keeping fingers crossed and chanting rolling along ... Hopefully, you're just out there making lots of good memories!
  12. Checking in, and sorry to see you're getting to some of the inevitable bumps in the road. Can you just stick the pills down his throat, and follow up with treats?? At least that way you don't have to worry that he'll accidentally bite into them and taste the nastiness. Some dogs are easier with this than others, so I'll wish you luck with the pill-sticking! Good thoughts to Larry, too! And hugs all around. :bighug
  13. Whew! Nice to read one of these and get the happy ending right in the opening post!
  14. I've been way out of the loop here on GT, and just had to search through Kebo's whole story to catch up with you all. Wow. What a ride. I love how his nose has re-shaped itself! Sending out waves of good thoughts and chanting for a long life for your "comfort seeking missile", with no more stinkin' surgeries!
  15. Urk! Sending good thoughts for Bullit, and calming thoughts for you all!
  16. Budesonide prices: I had to go searching all over heck and back, and ended up finding this post right here on GT! There are lots of other possibilities listed for sources in that thread. Good luck!!
  17. Ah! Glad Iker continues to mend. The strangeness is probably a permanent condition though.
